  1. Glad you finally got it back, Mike Given the apparent failure rate of the 10 speed valve bodies it is astonishing that it still, after all this time, takes so long to get one.
  2. Other than a tiny bit of added friction (stiction) from the bushings and end links a sway bar (front or rear) shouldn't really make the ride any stiffer from dips or bumps that effect both sides at the same time. They will make the ride stiffer when only one side is affected because they are basically adding spring rate.
  3. I went in and cleared the cache and storage in a couple of apps, Google Maps being one of them. Seems to have resolved the issue for now. Thanks, I appreciate the tip.
  4. Thanks for the reply. Interestingly, or ironically, I did "google" the symptom but didn't get any hits regarding this specific issue. Also interestingly, it had been working fine until about a month ago. Had no idea one could clear the cache and storage. I'll go pock around in there to see if I can figure it out.
  5. A new, mildly aggravating issue. Using built in Google Maps for navigation. Android phone not connected at all. The nav volume is low, and actually seems to get lower after the first 1 or 2 spoken instructions, to the point I can barely hear it. If I turn the volume knob up when nav is speaking the volume bar does go higher but the actual nav volume does not. Radio volume works fine. If I connect the phone using Android Auto and use Waze for navigation the nav volume works perfectly. I've tried rebooting the infotainment system, no change. Any ideas?
  6. Before you get too deep in this you might first check if your dealer can reprogram speedo/odo for the tire size/diameter you want to use. Larger diameter tires are going to throw the speedo/odo off; actual speed will be higher than reported speed, actual miles traveled with be higher than reported miles traveled. Could be the basis of a warranty denial.
  7. If I don't have my phone connected and therefore don't have AA running, Google Maps will display on the left, and XM (or radio, or AUX) will display on the right. Scrolling the right screen will show the clock and something else. If I do have AA running I can have Google Maps on the left, but cannot get XM/radio/aux displayed on the right, even though I can still use XM. I can toggle through my pre-set XM stations, radio stations, and aux using the station buttons on the left rear of the steering wheel, and those selections will temporarily display on the heads up display (haven't tried it in the dash cluster display). Scrolling the right side screen only shows the clock, something like an XM "for you" (suggested programming) screen, and some other screen.
  8. Yeah, took my dealer over a week just to pull it in. The service advisor said they had so many trucks there with transmission issues their only transmission tech was overwhelmed. The week long delay with getting it into the shop and diagnosed was slightly annoying, but what really irritated me was when they called and told me it needed a VB but the VB's were on nationwide back order and they had no idea when they'd get one in. That sent me into OD. You might consider calling your dealer and asking them if the VB's are available if the diagnosis says that's what you need.
  9. There was a long thread discussing the VB failures, and some folks posted different part numbers of the 10 speed valve bodies, which does suggest the VB's have been revised, perhaps several times. But unless you can get someone from GM to confirm, I can't think of any outside source that can say, definitively, that the root cause of the VB failures have been identified, all new VB's have the necessary fixes, and that those VB's are the only ones now used since MM/DD/YYYY to replaced failed VB's and all new transmissions are built with those VB's. I'm sure there are VB's still failing - there are a lot of the 10 speeds out there, but I think the odds are pretty good that a 2026 will have the revised VB. And FWIW, my son in law has a 10 speed truck with probably 70k-80k miles on it and has never had a problem with the transmission.
  10. Mike, I'd have to guess that whatever changes GM has made to the revised valve body have also been incorporated into the regular production transmissions. But I also thought after 4 years in production they'd have ironed out the bugs (that I did read about) when I decided my 2023 would be a safe bet, and that didn't work out so great, so what do I know. I can't find the long thread here regarding the 10 speed trans valve body so I assume things have settled down.
  11. Well that sounds like approximately zero fun, especially if one doesn't have access to a lift. Curious, though, that you mention the transfer case. I'd have thought the engine, and even trans, cooler lines would be well forward of the transfer case.
  12. Also in the DMV, but haven't noticed anything on mine. But mine is a '23 and has just under 27K miles on it so maybe I have time. Regardless, I'll have a look at them in the next week or two. Let us know how your swap out goes.
  13. Yes, done completely under warranty, zero cost to me. The power train warranty is 5 years/60K miles, whichever comes first. Unfortunately, it took over a month for mine to get fixed due to a shortage of valve bodies. But that was about 16 months ago, I suspect the shortage has probably been resolved. Mostly. The actual time to replace the VB is only a few hours. I didn't need a rental as I still had my car.
  14. There is no 10 speed trans recalI. About a year and half ago when I was shopping for a used truck I'd read a lot about the 10 speed trans problems. I ended up buying a used '23 with 20K miles on it. My logic being that, after 4 or so years, surely they'd have solved the issues. Nope, mine failed the day after I bought it. It does seem logical that the revised valve body would have made its way into the '26's by now, just not sure I'd bet on it. FWIW, mine has been fine after the VB replacement. But I've only put about 7K miles on it since.
  15. I have only a couple dozen tracks on a USB drive, so I'm not concerned displayed information or voice searches. Works fine for my limited needs. I WAS bummed about the NAV. I bought my '23 HC used about a year and a half ago. Signed up for OS, but not a data plan. Could not use the built in NAV (Google Maps) to actually navigate anywhere, which was fine since I could use Waze via AA, but the map would at least still display and actively show where I was and progress as I drove. Even got many notifications that off-line maps were being downloaded. It worked like this for well over a year until, evidently, OnStar caught up to me. Out of the blue the map simply stopped displaying on the screen this past January. Interestingly (to me) that although the map screen was now blank it did still show the little blue triangular marker for the vehicle, and it appeared that it would move around on the screen a bit as I drove. A call to OS cleared up the mystery, even if it didn't make me happy. Anyway, I sucked it up and signed up for a data plan.
