  1. I bet its something in the valve body too. I have a 24 3500 duramax and before my valve body failed with the dreaded wheel lockup deal it was shifting hard from 7th to 8th, both loaded and unloaded on just about every shift. I waited two months and got a new VB and everything felt great for a while. Now its back to being wonky with occasional harsh shifts from 7-8. I now have the parts kit from Nextgen in my hands and it will be installed next week by my mechanic who is a long term GM only guy with lots of GM transmission experience( he rebuilds them in his shop). He is familiar with Nextgen and thinks its a solid product. I too am done with GM after this latest engineering debacle.
  2. Wow, I have a feeling he is playing dumb..... The dealer where i am stuck in TX is a small dealer, they have 5 of them right now waiting for a valve body, some have been there since Nov. I called my selling dealer in FL just to see if they had anything to offer, they are a much larger dealer and have over 20 of them waiting for valve bodies right now.
  3. the dealer did give me a loaner so i can at least get around town while im stuck here. Although a 1500 is not towing my 24000lb 5th wheel Please reread the third post down. The DYI kit is not something practical for me to install, i have no access to a workspace and the dealer wont do it. Im also in a town i have never been, not sure who i could trust to do such a thing and not F it up. The one guy i would trust to do it is in Massachusetts, i'm in Texas right now. Also not really keen on spending money to fix a design defect and possibly void my warranty. Why should GM be let off the hook on this anyway? They created the problem by building a faulty product, they should fix it or buy it back if they cant. If my truck was out of warrant it would be a different story, i would probably get the entire next gen valve body and be done with it but the truck is well within its warranty period.
  4. I dont think so. First it’s at a dealer, truck is under warranty and they are not going to install non OE parts. Second is i have no place or real way to do it. I live in my RV and travel full time, im not crawling on my back in an RV park to do transmission work with nothing but a basic set of hand tools and hopes and dreams that it will fix it and hopefully not leave me stranded in some remote place……
  5. So the valve body on my 2024 3500's transmission decided to take a dump while i was towing my RV in central Texas. Thankfully i was able to get it to an RV park that had availability and was able to get the truck to a local dealer. They tell me the part is on backorder with no ETA and i was curious as to what others are experiencing. I'm literally stranded here in TX, we were on our way from FL to AZ. I know there are some aftermarket options out there that i could have pronto but I don't want to sink 3500 into a truck i'm not sure i'm going to keep long term. If you asked me right now i would tell you its gone ASAP, my wallet may have a different story..... I'm not really happy that the transmission took a dump at 35000 miles. Sorry if this looks like my first post, its been a while and i seem to have lost my original account.
