I have a 2014 gmc sierra 1500 2 wheel drive 4.3 with 283,000 miles on it. The torque converter just went out and took the transmission with it. It was owned by a relative and leaked oil on the starter. I have, among other codes, a po6dd and when starting the engine, after oil gauge sets it pegs all the way to 85lbs and stays there. Engine runs fine. I think non- Dexos oil was used (Penzoil high mileage 5w-30. Oil is not very dirty. I know the engine thermostat needs replacing. I am thinking the oil sending unit is bad and causing the po6dd that show up twice in the codes. They say a defective oil sending unit can peg the gauge and set a po6dd code. Am I on the right track?
