Shake or Vibration Issues

Well I've kept a low profile as I did not want to disturb the negotiations between Myself and General Motors. We finally came to an agreement and although I was not happy it was my decision to cut the BS and run especially since I gave General Motors more then six weeks to find a truck like mine that did not vibrate, I also gave them the opportunity for a second choice and that they could not even produce ! It still took the almighty GM an additional five weeks to come up with a buy back price. I had added a few items that would only fit on a K-1500 short bed and they seemed to have a problem realizing that if they could not find one the items were useless to me. Some thoughts I'd like to share, ANYONE who visits forums claiming to be Customer Service from GM are nothing but a waste of your time as are the Customer Service people from GM's own web site. They tried to get me to commit as long as my case was active with the BBB. Once GM declared my truck unrepairable they contacted the BBB and the case was closed and this is where they really started to insult my intelligence, avoid phone calls and E-mails. I was asked to send a copy of my DL and both sides of my LIEN FREE Title. They had acknowledged that they had received it and after the FIVE business day's that was listed I'd still not heard a peep out of the almighty. After two plus hours of rude people even though they had my case number they purposely neglected to inform me that my case worked was no longer employed by GM. I would have given them a pass however they made a decision to basically blow me off and then sent me a proposal for some guy in Florida on buying back a Cadillac ! So since October 18, 2014 there has been only two positive things that have become of this, (1) The Service Director at the selling dealership who in my opinion went further then anyone would even consider. (2) Because of GM's attitude toward it's customers it allowed my to look at other trucks. I found a NEW Ram 1500 with more equipment for less then I had paid for the Silverado and it does not vibrate ! The Transmission does not delay on the up shifts ! and the injectors are quiet ! I'll do my best to help anyone out who is going through what I did, All I ask is that you PM me for specific concerns and or questions to keep the forums clutter free. I'd like to extend my sincere gratitude to the forum for making space available to call out GM who since 2013 has been aware of this issue and for some reason they get a pass on it. -

OK, So today is 01/19/2015 the info they requested was there on 01/05/2015 as requested ! Today I called just to find out after spending more then 10min on hold then that I'd be called back in 5min that was in reality more then an hour that I'd have 'THEIR' proposal in an E-Mail in an hour I do have other things to do, so after four hours I checked my E-Mail and NOTHING from GM Call them just to find out that my case has to go to another level not exactly what I was told this morning GM HAS DRAWN FIRST BLOOD ! Until now I've allowed them to go through their procedure's and given them everything they have asked for on 01/05/2015 ! So with today's events GM has made it very clear to me that my 30k + I have in MY 2014 K-1500 I purchased in good faith that they have acknowledged is beyond any repair is clearly NOT A PRIORITY to them. It's a fairly easy case as I have A LIEN FREE & CLEAR TITLE and yet they have chosen to purposely insult my intelligence by their excuses and lack of accountability " The Show is over and the party starts NOW " -

" We need someone to set up a site and to post a link everywhere on the forum. The site should be ONLY about the vibration problems. The site asks for year model, cab style, gear ratio, 2wd or 4wd, length of cab, miles, at which miles it vibrates, make model of tires, aftermarket accessories so we can get a bead of what is really going on. " Here is a Great place to consolidate everyone's information www.gmtruckvibes.com -

Another week of waiting on General Motors It sure looks great sitting on the service row It's so sad it only has 1,100 miles on it. What's even worse is I only put 400 miles on it since I picked it up on 10/18/2014 ! For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible. Oh I hear yea In less then a few hours after GM contacted the BBB that my truck was unrepairable I've not heard a peep from GM Customer Service In fact my truck is SO BAD It's at the selling dealership ! So not only do I not have a truck, I'm WAITING ON GM AGAIN and their biggest problem is finding me a truck like mine that does not VIBRATE So now that I seem to have all this time on my hands, I'm compiling list's from the threads here and on few other sites in the effort to find the common denominator GM refuses to look for Stay tuned for futher updates -

Well another week without my truck It's not the Dealers problem it's a GM PROBLEM in three day's the GM engineer had spent with my truck, I or the Service Director really have no clue as to what Mr. engineer did or anything as far as an idea as to what's causing the vibration issue [Violent rhetoric removed to ensure reader safety] -

I got tired of waiting for the dealer to call when the engineer from GM would call him So I thought I'd chat with GM customer service, by some grace of a higher power the GM C/S person said that an appointment was set for 12/10/2014 I asked what time and they did not know only that the engineer was to call the dealer and in turn call me ( way more to this part of the story ) So about three 3pm I get a call to get the truck down to the dealer so it's ready bright and early for Mr. engineer I'll state this again My dealer has gone way beyond the norm by not only keeping me informed but they also had a 2015 C-1500 C/C with FOUR (4) miles on it waiting for me pointing out toward the road I asked to talk to the engineer but it does not work that way, So I just happend to swing by around 1pm and they were just fininshing up road forcing tires for the umtenth time, I waited for over an hour and they still had not come back. My thought is they might think that they can drive the vibration out of it On my way out the Service Manager said that it's GM policy to redo everything the dealer had done so I asked if they had time to pop in a new pinion as well as another set of Michelins or did he put the Bridgestones back on and did he do the same to the truck they are using like mine out of inventory with the very exact issues I've not heard a peep so far today Breaking News on any Vibration Updates to follow -

Well last Tuesday I got the call from Service Director, They are basically at the end of what GM engineers have suggested. I truly believe that my Service Director has done every thing conceivable along with the " IDEAS " supplied by the GM engineering and technical staff. So after countless tire road force procedures and a new set of Michelin's and another round of road forcing them, and new pinion gear there are absolutely no changers in the vibration of my NEW 2014 K-1500. When I arrived my truck had a set of stock OEM wheels and tires (bridgstone) the same route was taken and the exact same issue was very noticeable. Once the heaviest vibration began (@ 73mph) I looked over at the Service Director saying nothing he then promptly said I'll have to get an engineer out to drive it, and that might take some time. The ' Stock Unit ' that has less then a 100 miles on it is also experiencing the very same issues as well as the loaner truck I was using a 2014 C-1500 Double Cab with a 5.3 V-8 with 710 miles. After all of the procedure's that have been preformed on my truck I can safely say it's not a tire or wheel issue and obviously not the pinion although some play was noted on the original due to excessive metal shavings...or so I was told as I'm still waiting on my paperwork with the exact details. While I wait for the GM engineers to make a guest appearance, I'm having two major concerns (1) This being a SAFETY ISSUE, I'd really hate to be the cause of something to happen to someone else if this truck become more unstable at the noted highway speeds then it already is now. (2) I'm by no means an engineer or pretend to be. However my vast experience with vehicles and some round table chats with people in the industry a few ideas have came up, I'll reserve our thoughts and ideas until I have all of my paperwork and given the GM engineer a shot at a ride & drive. The good news is I had my truck for Thanksgiving ! Even though I feel unsafe at highway speeds and it's screws up my proven break-in procedure. -

Even though it's a pain in the A** I've felt confident in my dealers service dept, after all they have been there since 1938, also they are very up front in following just exactly what GENERAL MOTORS & Chevrolet Motor Division have prescribed For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible. -

Had not heard a peep in two day's, So I just happened to stop by Seems the pinion deal did not go as planned and even more sadly the exact same stock unit sitting on the hoist next to mine is a carbon copy of what my truck is experiencing. The Service director and adviser were very detailed as to what has exactly been done up to this point only by the blessings of GM Engineers Since it has now been an entire week AFTER the second attempt to correct this issue, To protect the Innocent ( mostly me ) I can honestly say the the dealer has exercised every avenue allowed by General Motors and Chevrolet Motor Division. After all this is just a piece of machinery developed, engineered, and sold by Chevrolet and for the amount of issues GM & Chevrolet seem to be having on this ' vibration ' issue I do find it myself wondering, based on the information I've received and the endless amount that is easily attainable on the internet, why my 08/2014 built unit even has this issue Unless an absolute miracle happens, I don not have a warm fuzzy feeling that I'll see my truck for Thanksgiving in it's intended working order -

Sadly I've joined the list Took delivery 10/18/2014 Traded in a '04 K-2500 Ext.Cab. with 49k, I wanted something that would fit into my garage so I replaced this with a '14 K-1500 Reg.Cab Short Box WT/1 with the 4.3 V6. On the test drive there was hardly any gas in it so I was not able to get to a highway speed, four hours later I noticed the vibration on the way home and thought that it had flat spots on the tires, when I got home I looked at the production date in the door jamb 8/2014 then I thought OK a weight must have fallen off so I drove it until it had 201 miles on it and had some custom wheels installed. I mentioned this issue to the guy's @ Discount Tires as they have done everyone of my vehicles for twenty years, when the stock wheels were broken down it appeared that the proper weights were in place. shortly leaving the same vibration appeared I called my buddies and they said bring it back. So I thought I'd put a few more miles on it then I got a call from the service dept of the selling dealer reminding me of the 30 day service follow up that would just take a few moments while I wait so I asked about this vibration issue and the short amount of time I've had the truck that only has just a tad over 400 miles on it. I also explained that this was an issue since day one and what I'd done with the wheels. After the remark of " You can't believe everything you read on web sites " I asked to speak to the Service Manager who asked me to bring the truck in the next morning and he'd have a vehicle for me to use...Very cool ! this was on Thursday 11/13/2014 did not hear anything until 11/14/2014 @ 4PM I said that I could be there @ 9am Saturday and that I was. They were quite busy so the Assistant Service Manager had my truck brought up front and asked me to go drive it. 15min later when I finally got to the freeway right @ 69mph same deal went back and we talked to Service Manager and said keep the loaner we'll call you on Monday. I was surprised to see on my GM Owners site that a forum they have a link to this is a hot issue as well as very upset owners I also noticed that my 2011 Cadillac DTS has the infamous ignition switch recall...Ahh what has happened to GM -
