  1. I installed my 2" Rough Country kit this weekend on my 2015 Z71 and immediately took it off. If you watch the suspension come to rest on the lower strut spacer, it places a tremendous amount of stress on that polycarbonate piece. I just didn't feel comfortable as the spacer didn't align with the lower control arm holes where it was pressed up against the lip to be supported like I'd like. I have no doubt the rough country will be fine, but for some reason, it just gave me a bad feeling knowing the load that part will be under especially offroad and taking large bumps at speed. I'm having a metal kit installed tomorrow by someone more qualified than me.
  2. Love mine, but the drone isn't something I can tolerate for long.
  3. If you stick with 2 inch or less, there shouldn't shouldn't be any effects.
  4. I regret removing mine.
  5. Leave both the flapper and the resonator.
  6. I didn't realize that about license plates. So that's a 42 inch curved bar. The two mounts use bolts in holes I drilled directly into the grill which happens to line up with one of the thick "posts" on the inside of the grill. Easy improvised installation.
  7. Just FYI, it'll interfere with the front license plate. Here's how I did mine:
  8. He asked what he should grease.
  9. Wow... thanks for such a great thread... Spend days reading this. I'm putting a 2in rough country level on my 2015 LTZ Z71 4x4 5.3 this weekend. I prefer a lot of rubber versus a larger wheel, so is the consensus pretty much that with 18"inch wheels, 275/70/18 is the maximum tire size in my configuration without havinig to do any trimming or have rubbing? Thanks in advance for your advice and information.
  10. I wasn't aware of that. Sorry man.
  11. That's how my 2015 behaves from the factory.
  12. Straight through the grill with bolts and lock nuts.
  13. 2015 LTZ Z71 4x4 Crew Cab Short Box Decided to put some light on the situation... Next up, 2" Level and new tires (but definitely keeping the 18's)
  14. Sweet! My dad was a ME and did all his own auto work. I've decided to at least do the oil changes to teach the boy.
  15. LOL< my 5 year old and I are both built like big boys, but not quite as big as the reflection showed! He likes helping around the house and on mechanical things.
  16. Yes, I'll try to do so this evening on my commute home.
  17. It's awesome at idle but way too loud otherwise between 1500 and 2000 rpm and when 4 cyl mode kicks in.
  18. Attached is a video of my new dual exhaust with Magnaflow single in dual out 18", on my 2015 5.3 LTZ Z71 CCSB Silverado. Too loud for me in the cab at low speeds. I unfortunately removed the flapper & resonator. Will have to go back and fix eventually. https://www.youtube.com/embed/5WdzFXqKZ20
  19. Thank you for the advice and I will give that a try.
  20. Yep, that's probably my mistake, I had them remove the flapper, the resonator and the 3rd cat.
  21. Thanks for the feedback. My length of the casing is 18" and it seems deafening under acceleration (near silent at 70 mph cruise). I'll take some video with audio and post...
  22. Well, I think I screwed up on my 2015 LTZ Z71 5.3 with my new exhaust system. Don't get me wrong, it sounds amazing, and the workmanship my guy did was awesome, but I'm afraid my 18" magnaflow (single in dual out) is way too loud, especially under acceleration at low speeds. My wife is not happy, and honestly it is probably too loud. I just got the work done on Monday 2/11, but I feel like I'm going to have to do something fairly quickly to quiet it down. I'm wondering how much % of a difference a 22 or 24 inch would make, or if I need to go back to a stockish muffler. Any suggestions are appreciated.
  23. I'm surprised to find out, that my cargo lights on my 2015 DO come on when in reverse if the switch is turned on.
