  1. I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 LT CC. I recently purchased tow mirrors and installed them. The tow mirrors I purchased came with the wiring for the lighting if your truck didn’t come with mirror lighting. Theres four wires I need to splice in somewhere (per mirror) The wiring diagram they gave me was vague and I’m not too sure what all of the lights are: -Signal on the glass (+) -lights (-) -Reversing light (+) -Clearance light (+) I am an avionics guy for airplanes so I’d say I’m ok at wiring. I tried tapping the blinker wire into the BCM but blinker wouldn’t come on. I also read the you really shouldn’t splice into the BCM. Does Anyone have advice for running these wires and where I can tap into ? P.s. I know someone on here sells a harness, but I don’t want to spend extra money if I don’t have to. I already ran the wires in the cab.
  2. I bought tow mirrors off of a 2014 silverado and want to put them on my 2016. I’ve looked at wiring diagrams and I can’t figure out what this orange wire by itself is for. Any help would be appreciated.
  3. Hello all, New to the forum. I have an issue with my truck. 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 HD. Just put on tow mirrors. Stock mirrors had full options (integrated blinker, heated, power adjust, power fold in, and puddle lights) My tow mirrors have integrated blinkers, heated, power adjust, manual fold in, amber marker light on back and reverse LED. My issue is, my reverse LED's do not work. I have a cargo light button which turns on the cargo light in back but not the reverse assist lights in the mirror. Is there any way to make them work? A trick or anything? Thanks!
  4. Hello, I recently bought a pair of tow mirrors and a wiring harness for the 2016 Silverado LT. I got them both installed and can get all the lights to work except the vanity light on the side of the mirror which is supposed to turn on when the door opens, when the cargo light is turned on when the vehicle is in reverse. The wiring harness had me insert 3 pins into the connector which plugs into the door jamb. I looked at previous postings on the forums to ensure that I inserted the pins into the correct slots i.e. (blue into #11, Red into #41 and White into #9) and this agreed with the instructions I received for the install. All the lights on the mirrors work except for the reverse/cargo lights. Does anyone have any idea where I went wrong or what I could do to fix it? Would inserting a pin upside down cause the lights to work incorrectly? The instructions stated that they must be inserted a certain way. Any help would be great, thanks!
  5. GM has available now factory camper mirrors! Time for a nice run down on them and what is involved. What they are: Factory tow mirrors. https://accessories.chevrolet.com/product/extended-view-tow-mirrors-in-black-84731241?year=2020&make=Chevrolet&model=Silverado%201500&categoryId=98023 Price? Part #? 84731241 is the #, MSRP for the mirror package is $730. What do they feature? Includes lower convex spotter glass, as well as cargo lamps, clearance lamps and integrated turn signal indicator. Manual extend and manual fold. The good: -GM has factory tow mirrors available as an accessory for trucks that don't have them! The bad: - 2020+up ONLY at the moment. They do NOT list them for 2019. - They DO REQUIRE HARNESS SWAPS. Both front doors require new door harnesses. - If you have the front spotter lights in the mirrors or have blind spot alert, THESE WILL NOT WORK! - BCM calibration required for ALL models to make all lighting function. If you have the dealer do it, its about 3.6 hours. Harness numbers will be listed below: 2020-2021 Crew and Double Cab with KEYED ignition and DLF mirror: 84622369 and 84622370 2020-2021 Regular Cab with KEYED ignition and DLF mirror: 84622376 and 84622380 2020-2021 Crew and Double Cab with PUSH BUTTON ignition and DLF mirror: 84622371 and 84622372
  6. I installed a set of tow mirrors which have the rear facing clearance lamps. There's a pair of wires for these clearance lamps separate from the rest of the harness. The mirror control power and heat element are plug and play and work fine. I want to use the cargo lamp switch to power these clearance lamps, so that when I turn on my bed light these side light's come on as well. I identified the wire which controls the cargo light at the BCM (Dark Blue/White Strip). It's my understanding that this wire is the switched ground and that the BCM makes the connection to power when the switch is on completing the circuit. Iv'e reviewed several posts in different forum's talking about this. My take is that you tap into the blue/white wire with the ground wire from the led's and provide power to the positive wire via a add a fuse connection from the driver side fuse box. I did all this and it kinda works, It's just a little back words. When I turn on the cargo light my cargo light comes on as you would expect, but the led's on the mirrors stay off. When I turn the cargo light switch off my led's come on and my cargo light goes off. Truck is a 2003 Silverado 1500HD. Iv'e also see that you can tie into power from the mid-bec as well, just not sure how to do this from the info I've been able to find. Can anyone help me figure this mod out.
  7. I just bought a used 2013 GMC 2500HD. As I was driving from the dealership I discovered that the tilt up direction on the driver side tow mirror would not work. All other directions (tilt down, left, right) work fine. What could cause this? The switch? The actuator / motor?
