Funny story (or sad if you want a Leer Cap for a 2020 HD). I spoke with Chad this afternoon who is the local Leer rep for my area and he told me this is what the Regional Guy for Leer told him 2 weeks ago regarding the 2020+ Heavy Duty Chevy/GMC line-up. Verbatim........ Leer is watching sales right now to see how popular the Silverado/Sierra HD lineup is actually going to be before we begin the R&D on this model shell. So, according to the local guy, it could be well into 2021 before we see a Cap/Topper from Leer for a 2020+ Silverado/Sierra Heavy Duty truck. Looks like I will be keeping an eye on ARE to see what they come up with. Or postponing my purchase until definitive news comes out.

I currently have a leer XL on my 2014 GMC 2500HD and love it. I am 100% ready to pull the trigger on a 2020 Sierra Reg Cab Long bed 2500HD but there is no option on the Leer or ARE site for this model. I have sent Leer at least 4 emails and have never heard back. Unfortunately for me, I am not going to purchase a truck until a cap option is available as it is used exclusively for vacation/camping and the cap is required. There are also no options for an aftermarket sliding rear window for this body style yet, so that is another thing keeping me from the truck purchase. Don't get me started on why GM doesn't offer any options for a sliding rear window in a regular cab truck....just stupid. I am working on this myself right now. So far I have them hardwired in, but plan to go the stock route as soon as I source some door harnesses. GM makes it tough to find the right part numbers for these harnesses. I know this thread is based on the 2014+ models but I have a question that may pertain to GMT900 trucks as well. Is there a BCM flash required when going from a non-data bus door harness? My truck has the non Data Buss switches and harness so I need to replace both to upgrade to DL3's. I am finding conflicting information regarding whether this upgrade requires a BCM flash to be fully functional. If all I have to do is program the switches I am fine with that. However, I really do not want to get into programming the BCM with a new VIN and all that jazz. I will just hard wire a momentary switch to fold the mirrors rather than do a new VIN and BCM program. I have a tech2 so programming modules is not an issue. Any help or insight would be great! @pgamboa, Would you mind sending me a link to your source for connectors. I am considering building a harness for my mirrors but am having a hard time locating those connectors and pins. Thanks, Jimmie

Awesome thread and great info here for those of us trying to do this retrofit. Like many others I am one of the GMT900 truck owners (2007.5 - 2014) trying to join the folding tow mirror club. Since A1Auto has released the TR00133 mirrors, we now have that option. See my thread HERE for more details. I am considering 3 possibilities right now. 1. Stock approach with all stock hardware and factory look with the A1 mirrors. May require some programming for the power fold switches and BCM but maybe not....still not sure. 2. Custom setup with the A1 mirrors and a switch in the overhead console to operate the power fold feature. 3. Some combination of 1 and 2 where I disassemble the A1 mirrors from the arms and use the factory tow mirror body. This way I have the fold feature with a factory looking mirror. Then either use stock switches or custom switch. If anyone can add any insight or help either in this thread or my own, it would be very much appreciated. In addition, I have been searching far and wide for a USED switch for my retrofit. GM Part # 20877338 or 20835557. With this used switch I can potentially bypass the need for programming. This switch is applicable to the rare ext. cab/reg cab models with the upgraded trim. It only has (2) window switches instead of (4). If anyone has a line on one please let me know.
