  1. I just got my truck back from the dealer. They confirmed a fault in the turn signal and replaced the blinker stalk.
  2. I finally got a video of it happening and am taking it to the dealer next week. I will give an update afterwards.
  3. After using my wipers last weekend, it has temporarily stopped. I'm sure there is some type of electrical issue in the turn signal lever, but am reluctant to take to the dealer if it is not repeatable.
  4. My 2024 2500 HD started having the wipers intermittently turn on for 2-3 wipes when I use the turn signal. Sometimes they will just turn on by themselves for 2-3 wipes while driving. This is all intermittent and difficult to reproduce. Obviously, there is some type of short in the lever controlling the turn signal and wipers. Has anyone else had similar issues and what was the remedy? Thanks
  5. I'm very pleased with mine. I pull a 5-6k lb boat and barely feel it. I also occasionally tow a 13k lb boat--I can feel it, but it does well up to 60 mph (any faster and I worry about stopping). I did get Timbren suspension stops for the rear. The truck has a great ride of a 2500. Driving 80 mph on the highway I get 15 mpg using ethanol free and 14 using regular.
  6. I had a similar issue with a 2017 1500. It was some component behind the dash going bad. Look in the 1500 forums as they have the same infotainment system
  7. On my last GM truck, there is a little hole on the side of the headrest base. Press a paperclip in the hole as you pull out the headrest. That releases the headrest.
  8. I have a 2024 Silverado 2500 with 20,000 miles and the standard tailgate. Intermittently (about once a month) the tailgate will not open with either the button on the tailgate, the button on the dash, or the button on the remote. Then 30 minutes later it works just fine. I had the most recent software update which has changed nothing. Also, after driving 1-2 hours, the radio preset buttons on the left side of the radio usually quit working. I park and restart the truck and everything is back to normal. I have also have the latest radio update. It is difficult for the dealer to fix something that is working fine when I take it in. Has anyone else had these issues or have any insight?
  9. Hello all. I have a 2024 2500HD Silverado. After driving 1-3 hours, the radio favorites buttons (back side of steering wheel on the left) quits working. If I restart the truck after 1-2 minutes, then it is still inoperable. If the truck is off 5-10 minutes, the buttons resume working. Obviously, it is a software glitch and not a huge deal since the radio controls on the touch screen work. Also, my radio is not showing any needs of updates. I was just wondering if anyone else is having this issue or have any insights.
  10. My guess is 2-3 inches. I doubt you need a weight distributing hitch on your new truck. Remember the hitch diameter is 2.5 inches so use an adapter or get a new adjustable hitch.
  11. I think they are very reliable. I only nave 8000 miles, but no oil usage or issues. New trucks ride much better than 2019's and have better infotainment systems. Mileage will be worse, but regular is cheap and $ per mile is very close to diesel.
  12. Well, I have made some progress. I restarted my phone and deleted My Chevrolet from Bluetooth and WiFi. I deleted my phone from the truck. I then started syncing them again following directions and prompts from the Infotainment system. It has been two days and thus far it is working as it should. I do have a data plan and have the trucks WiFi is turned on as is sharing with phones. Hope this helps some one.
  13. It is almost humorous. CarPlay has a mind of its own--it works randomly about 1/2 -3/4 of the time. It usually does work if I reboot the radio. I have Wi Fi hotspot "on" and got an unlimited data plan to see if that would help. At least Google Maps works with the data plan. It would be nice if there were a more permanent fix.
  14. I have them and minimal sag with 14,000 boat. Very pleased
  15. I'm not sure, but most are always "on"
  16. Well. It didn't work/connect (the wifi) last night. This morning it works. Not sure whether to laugh or cry. It is not a big deal until I'm in traffic going somewhere unfamiliar and it doesn't work.
  17. Thanks. I turned wi-fi hotspot "on". Let's hope CarPlay stays "on".
  18. CarPlay in mine now goes out every 2-3 weeks. Hard reset (press hang up button on steering wheel 10 seconds) and it works again. Very irritating. Radio has all updates. Time to talk to the dealer.
  19. I read somewhere that one of the buckles came apart and was not well made (I'm sure they are not DOT approved-LOL). I would hate to be buckled up with one that failed in a crash.
  20. I had that first, but two issues. First, it rubbed against my thigh when buckled. Second, I read that they are not well made and may not protect you if in a crash.
  21. First of all, I use my seat belt but sometimes want it off. To disable it, I first removed four TORX 50 bolts holding the seat in place. I was then able to position the seat so that I could see/access the sensor wires near the belt buckle (medial portion of seat just anterior to the seat belt). The connector is attached to the seat. The anterior wire has a red plastic lock which needs to be pulled out about 1/8". Then press a paper clip into the base of the red lock clip to release it and pull the wire out of the connector. Your chime is now disabled and the truck thinks you are buckled up. The hardest part is figuring out how the red clip lock works with such awkward access.
  22. I had a 2017 Sierra with the 6.2 and max tow. Very quick truck and great towing 5-6,000 lb. It got 19 mpg driving hard (75-85) and over 20 mpg driving 70-75, but that was using either premium or 89 ethanol free. It got 10-12 mpg towing a 5,000 lb boat 75 mph. It was a great truck, but not up to towing my new boat. I will say my new 2500 rides more smoothly and quietly; it is just harder to park-LOL.
  23. I have a 2024 High country gas with 3000 miles. Stop and go driving(city) kills the gas mileage to a 12-13 mpg average. Driving hard (75-85 mph) on the interstate gives about 14 mpg. Drafting of slowing down to 70-75 gives 15 mpg. Driving 60-65 gives 16 mpg and drafting at 60-65 gives 17 mpg. Towing 2500 lb at 60-65 gives 11 mpg. Towing 14,000 lb at 60 gives 7-8 mpg. My mileage has improved after the first 1500-2000 miles and may get a little better. Zero oil usage and the oil is still very light brown. The truck is not quick, but plenty of acceleration when needing to merge (unloaded). It pulls a 14,000 lb boat remarkably well--I did add the Timbren axle stops so I have very little squat or bouncing. Overall, I love the truck
  24. Here is an update. After the "update", the CarPlay icon was "grayed out". I went into settings and CarPlay had been disabled or would not connect wirelessly. I don't know exactly what I did, but I reset the settings to allow CarPlay to connect wirelessly and now every thing is fine. The icon is now lit up. I bet the "update" turned it off without a data plan, but I was able to re-activate it. I also checked all the settings in my phone to allow CarPlay to connect. Best of luck to every one
  25. I have a 2024 Silverado 2500 High Country. It is a month old and the initial "free" data plan has expired. I also just did an "over the air" update on the entertainment system (prompted by GM). Now, my wireless Apple Carplay does not work (yes my phone is connected via Bluetooth). Carplay does work if I plug in to the USB port. Has any one else had this issue or does any one have a solution? Thanks
