  1. I didn't really notice a difference over the stock as far as noise. I have driven up to 70, windows up and down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Un-repairable flat lead to new tires:) Got a great deal on these Toyo Open Country ATII Extremes, 295/55R20. Above pic has stock tire on the front still. Way more rim protection with this width of tire.

  6. I feel like it did help, I also have a tune and exhaust. Not sure if you have read S&B's faq on hp gains, but I think there is some truth to it. I think you have to take any performance mods HP claims with a grain of salt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Maybe you can comment on the MIT then. From the pictures I have see of it(like post #453) I thought it does a similar thing. It is narrow by the filter then, rather than a gradual increase in diameter, it bulges out right away. I almost went with the MIT. S&B does claims a 38% increase in flow, not that I have any way to confirm that:)
  8. I can try to get a sound clip, but they tend to not show the true sound and unless we have the same exhaust, it probably wouldn't tell you anything. As for comments, I was surprised about how much it changed the exhaust note, does sound like it is flowing more air. I have a 22in magnaflow on right now(had a 14in before that) and it made it louder and deeper in tone. I don't hear any increase in intake noise since it is fully enclosed, seems to be the same as the stock box, unless I just can hear it over the exhaust. Honestly my but dyno isnt tuned to pick up anything under a 20HP gain. Don't really notice anything there, not like I did with the Diablo canned tune. I considered the MIT also, I went with the S&B over anything else for the following: - I wanted to keep it fully enclosed, engine compartments gets dirty, I think the box protects the filter better and keeps intake noise down. - I like the clear window S&B has. I don't want to get out a screw driver to check my air filter. - S&B's claims that their filters filter as good as stock paper, but flow much better of course. - Takes advantage of the extra hole in the sidewall to be able draw in more air(if that really matters). - It looks cooler I like the look of the red filter showing. Since I can't ever just be done with this stuff. I am wondering how hard it would be to cut an access hole in the air box and make a plug so I can access the headlight bulb by only having to remove the filter(not the whole box).
  9. Installed an S&B tonight. Install was easy. The air box is a bit bigger than stock, rests pretty close to the headlight plug. Have the butt dyno scheduled for tomorrow:). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Instead of 2 flappers after the muffler, just do 1 before it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I have a 14in magnaflow, offset single in/out. Trying it with the flapper stuck open right now. I am surprised by how much I like it. V4 bothers me less than I thought. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I kept it too. Haven't tried it clamped open yet. It's on my to do list. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Haha, yep read it wrong. Up to early this morning:) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Looks like that cat back does NOT come with their VT muffler, the one with the valve. It comes with the ultra-flow. So I don't think you got a valve. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Yes. But as someone pointed out mine has the valve downstream of the muffler rather than upstream. My exhaust guy felt like borla put it before just so they could offer a dual out. Dual out seems like more of an upgrade to most I'm sure:). I'm thinking I will clamp it open if I get more sound, then for trips leverage the valve. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. So I finally decided what to try out for my exhaust. I went with the magna flow 14in, 3in offset. Inspired by the gm borla, I had them incorporate the exhaust adaptive valve along with a bypass. I have only had it a few days, want to get a feel for it before stating an opinion. After a while, so I can check on gas mileage, I will clamp the valve open for a bit to see how it affects the sound. I got lucky in that the shop had a 3in valve off a 6.2 they gave me. 17. I considered that one until my exhaust shop said they get a lot of them back for rattling after a while. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  19. Thanks, I gathered that from the video. I had a super 40 on my Yukon, and like to hear what my right foot is doing. I recently was driving by a louder Chevy and my 11 yearly daughter even asked why my truck didn't sound like that. My exhaust shop will also let my try for a week or so and change mufflers for free if I am not happy. Just looking for my starting point. I think I am one that would take sound over v4, and will tune out v4 if it bothers me. From your video it didn't seem any worse than the drone of the super 40. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Mike, would you be willing to make a similar in cab video of your 18in? I think I might be starting with the 14. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. thanks in advance. I might be interested in which model number too if you have it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Do you have any videos taken while driving in v4 and v8? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I saw that one too. I am tempted to try it with an 18in magnaflow or a super 40.
  24. That's the best pic of the adaptive valve on the Borla I have seen. Couldn't find that part number though, might be missing the first digit. I don't think that is the same part as the stock one. The axis for the flapper looks more centered on that one. If we can find that part, should be easy for a muffler shop to build that bypass(or overflow) tube around it too and put it upstream of any muffler.
  25. Here is what I did. I took the headrest off from behind the car seat to try it out in the middle seat. Just ran the rods down behind the seat. It has been working good so far. I can open the back window still and it's an ok height for my center seat passengers. I also noticed that the headrests don't lock in the up position at all. You would think this would be a safety standard. Anyway, it's a free thing to try. If you like it just order another oem headrest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
