The 60" bar I had previously installed, I should have been clearer in my post. Yesterday I installed the small LED's in the back of the steps, but the light bar I got on Ebay, link below. I just purchased another 4 wire flat connector so that the light bar can be easily unplugged and replaced if necessary. I opened up the harness protection behind the OEM trailer plugs and ID'd the wires and tapped/soldered there. just verified with a voltmeter as I went.

The small LED's in the step of the bumper I wired into the reverse light wires grn/blk at the plug in the rear light housing. Here is the link to those lights. To be so small and cheap they are pretty bright.

You are right about the changing the reverse bulbs to LED. Once you start LED replacement regular bulbs look horrible. I have LED's in the cargo light, license plate, foot well, and bumper now. Fogs and reverse lights next.
I was at a friends house last week that replaced his kitchen ceiling can lights with LED's and it is a huge difference, so now I need to get some led's for the house!
