  1. On Ebay, $14.99. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Set-of-4-Rear-Wheel-Well-Frame-Tube-Hole-Plugs-2014-GMC-Sierra-SLE-SLT-/371042350591?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2014%7CMake%3AChevrolet%7CModel%3ASilverado+1500&hash=item5663d8f5ff&vxp=mtr
  2. In between real mods so I Installed the frame plugs.
  3. Removed the front air dam, will see if I notice a difference in MPG. Like the way it looks now and I know it will be better after some lift and tires.
  4. I had noticed that language myself and used a digital voltmeter. I saw the 12vdc just fine on it. I did not attempt to check it with a light tester. I figured that the concern may be connecting a bulb in the circuit with a ground, whereas multimeters have their own power source and place little to no load on a circuit. You can pick up a basic multimeter for a small price if you don't know someone to borrow one from.
  5. I think they are an improvement as it is more light and a white light. Not sure that it makes a huge difference to driving but it looks better. I did install the passenger side and left the driver side stock and lit them both up to compare and it is a noticeable difference in light output. I am upgrading to LED's in the house and finding the same improvements in light output and quality of light.
  6. I have the DDM HID kit for the headlights and put in the VLEDS 5K white 10 LED's in the fogs. See this link for more information. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/152762-hid-headlight-bulbs-hid-projector-retrofit/
  7. This is the reply I received from AMP, I think I am going with the plug/play after having to pull the passenger panel to replace my mirror. If you were to order now we will be shipping kits to the warehouses at the end of this week. The part# for the 2014 GM 1500 and 2500 Gas motor trucks is 76154-1A and this has the new Plug and Play feature for the wiring. George@ 949/221-4194
  8. Finally put the LED fogs in, much better!
  9. I had to really hunt in the bundle on my truck. The wires were all the way toward the exterior and at the bottom of the harness. They were buried in the one location that was the most difficult to find. I used my fluke ddm to verify, any voltmeter will do. Just loosen the harness as much as you can and take your time searching, you will find it!
  10. I don't expect GM to do this for us, in fact the thread is how do we mod it ourselves. I think it could be very simple and cheap for the factory to do and options = $. While I understand the liability aspect I have known for a long time that there is no controlling what people will do. I don't want everyone going down the road with 3 screaming kids and two Disney movies playing but they are, I don't want everyone on the road to have access to alcohol and drugs but they do. I can be just as distracted now with my weather map/radar, Bluetooth, phone apps, etc. Here is a crazy experiment, shifting the truck into reverse while driving to activate the camera. http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=shift+into+reverse+to+activate+rear+cam&FORM=HDRSC3#view=detail&mid=FCAD896B6407A39C8CADFCAD896B6407A39C8CAD There are others that have been successful with this mod in other vehicles. I would like to see some schematics for our trucks but I do not know that it is even possible to do with wiring as it could require a software change since the modules know and control everything on the truck.
  11. It is not trailer set up that I would be looking at. When hauling my tractor, quads, etc. It would be nice to check the load, especially the tie downs. The camera has a good field of view beyond just the hitch. I can enter my nav map and watch it and weather radar. I hear the new f150 will have multiple cams to include side video shot from from the mirrors, will be interesting to see see what they do.
  12. It not like they are not already watching video on phones, pads, and aftermarket video.
  13. I would like to have that option on a switch, why would the factory not offer that?
  14. Very nice truck! Perfect example of why it is hard to beat black!
  15. The 60" bar I had previously installed, I should have been clearer in my post. Yesterday I installed the small LED's in the back of the steps, but the light bar I got on Ebay, link below. I just purchased another 4 wire flat connector so that the light bar can be easily unplugged and replaced if necessary. I opened up the harness protection behind the OEM trailer plugs and ID'd the wires and tapped/soldered there. just verified with a voltmeter as I went. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Truck-Tailgate-Light-Bar-LED-60-Red-White-Reverse-Stop-Running-Turn-Signal-/400624564281?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d4715b839 The small LED's in the step of the bumper I wired into the reverse light wires grn/blk at the plug in the rear light housing. Here is the link to those lights. To be so small and cheap they are pretty bright. http://www.ebay.com/itm/171237922866?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 You are right about the changing the reverse bulbs to LED. Once you start LED replacement regular bulbs look horrible. I have LED's in the cargo light, license plate, foot well, and bumper now. Fogs and reverse lights next. I was at a friends house last week that replaced his kitchen ceiling can lights with LED's and it is a huge difference, so now I need to get some led's for the house!
  16. Installed the reverse LED lights.
  17. My Z71 is steel. I thought the alum verses steel was related to whether it is DC or CC?
  18. Installed the driver side grab handle. Now the truck is balanced. LOL
  19. When I tested them prior to installing they looked white, but in the truck they have a blue/purple tint. They were labeled white from the seller on ebay also, http://www.ebay.com/itm/201043970359?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
