  1. I wired them to the domes lights. I bought them on Ebay. Here is the link with details of the installation. I used the strips but you can use whatever type LED's you like. I think the same vendor had colors also. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/157588-led-accent-lighting-pods-strips/

  3. Installed my interior LED's yesterday, like the light and the look. I found it to be a real pain getting in a good position with that upper connector. Unplugged it and cut one tie strap which gave me just enough room. Being twisted up under the dash and working is not as easy as it used to be.
  4. That is a nice setup you got with the fold down rack, awesome. Always loved the use of a rack but hated the looks, problem solved now, Nice ride!
  5. Yes it is the AVS aeroskin in chrome, I like it better than the others I have had in the past since it is flush and smooth, no snags. I think it is a good fit on these trucks with the chrome across the top already or the smoke for dark colors looks nice. Easy to install, has 3M tape already applied so you just test fit and then remove some of one side of the tape and work your way across the hood. The fit is excellent so the only thing you are watching for when installing is that the distance is exact on both sides of the hood.
  6. Two mods done today, finally received the DuHa underseat storage bin and installed it. Color was better than I expected, glad I waited on it. Installed the DDM HID kit, best mod yet!
  7. Update. My LED DRL's have worked as designed all week, I am now checking them in glass when I pull into work, stores etc. It appears now that I am partly to blame as I mistakenly thought the green light should be on. This was probably due to me coming out of the garage in the am when the auto lights are on, and or going to and from work at twilight. I now suspect that the battery disconnect did resolve it but I was hung up on the dash light. The auto function, fog parking lights, etc. all work fine. I will now watch in glass windows for the DRL's but I do not expect an issue. I now will move on to adding the HID kit. I think I will disconnect the battery from now on prior to any electrical work as a precaution. I do not think there is any harm with the electrical mods if done correctly, it is just that the processor apparently can sense load/resistance and a script or process can hang.
  8. I first used those tires on wife's SUV and loved them. Put them on my DMAX as well. I am planning on buying them for this truck after I got some use out of the stock tires but may have to go sooner. I cannot imagine this truck being any quieter or smoother but I am good with it. Does anyone know what the largest tire could be placed on these OEM wheels? I was thinking of going up a size or two.
  9. Took the truck in today for the rear slider bulletin so I told them about the DRLs. They spent some time troubleshooting that the headlight DRL's were inoperative, I saw the tech and when he told me that, I said this is a GMC not a Chevy! They verified this as they were surprised that GMC would use LED's for DRL's. The DRL LED's worked perfectly while at the dealer and they said that the green dash light should only be on when the headlights are on. Can anyone with a GMC verify this? I thought it had always been on but maybe I was wrong. Interesting thing is the tech told me that there were two errors recorded in the BSM, one for rear lights and one for license plate light. He asked what I had done, which was the LED bar and the LED bulbs in the license plate. It is not causing an issue but interesting that anything connected or changed on the truck is recorded. I will keep watching to see if they come on regularly.
  10. I disconnected my battery for a few minutes and did not see any difference at first, I did not look at the DRL's while in gear but noted that the green DRL indicator did not light. Later that day I pulled into a hardware store with glass front and noticed that my DRL's were on with no dash indicator on. Checked when I left work and they were not on. I think there is a software glitch and need a reboot. Maybe I did not have the battery disconnected long enough?
  11. TJay74, Understand that the led strips are my DRL's. They both illuminate with headlights on, they both illuminate when remote started and when fog lights are activated. They will not activate when truck is running in or out of gear, during this time there is no DRL green symbol illuminated in my instrument panel either. Only the bottom LED strip should be on for DRL or at least that is how my truck was. Moto-Medic, the only work performed on the truck was the installation of the power tail gate lock. I thought about that but I did not damage any wiring, the locks functions fine, and I unplugged it and retested, no difference. I guess in theory I could have done something to a wire in that bundle under the door sill but I was extremely careful when moving them.I checked the manual for DRL operation and fuse locations. None of this helped as I could not find any fuse for DRL, just headlamps, park, tail etc. Which I saw in a few posts on here that the fuse was removed by GM. I did look in the fuse panel at many fuses for a blown one, but would almost have to pull them all to be 100% sure. I have tested all lights, blinkers, bed led's, various options and I cannot fine anything else not working. One other item to note is that I am not sure when this happened as I think I had gotten used to the green dash light and pay it no mind normally. I had also not used the truck regulary for the last few weeks making it even harder to pinpoint. It could have been this way for the past month. I was seeing them light when I remote start leaving work. Just glad at this point that I noticed it because I am finishing the HID conversion novel and wanted to order the DDM kit this week. Also the green DRL dash light lights upon startup as if all is fine with the system then goes out which is normal until you place it into drive. I cannot think of anything else to try at this point. Seems odd that they are the only lights not working, software glitch? failed relay?
  12. They are not coming on in drive or reverse. No dash light indicator either unless I push fogs. I tried every switch and button, and read the manual. I cannot think of anything else to try, any ideas?
  13. I just noticed today that my DRL's were not on and no matter what I do they will not work. I do not know if I somehow disabled them without knowing it or there is an issue with the system. The upper and lower LEDS come on when remote started but go out when the key is placed in the ignition. They come on when the fogs are activated. The manual to auto light control does not make any difference. I cannot find any other lights that are not working. I have to get the rear slider recall done so I guess I will see what the dealer say about this.
  14. Received mine yesterday and installed today. All went fine, this was much easier than the 06 having to remove door panels. Finding the correct brown/yellow and grey wire was the worst part as they were on completely different sides with one on top and one on bottom. The person that wrote the Pop&Lock instructions was color blind or has never seen Tan. Thanks MotoMedic for the write up and pictures as they are so much clearer than what is provided.
  15. is this operating on 12vdc? The instructions say no test light and a device that is computer safe for testing. I have a fluke DVM and just want to be sure of what voltage I should see?
  16. I am just approaching 3k miles with a 5.3 DC 3.42 4x4, but it seems to do the best mileage when at 60-65mph, 22-24mpg. Maybe it is able to stay in V4 for longer periods of time verses running 55mph, just a thought.
  17. I have an access roll up and it works great for my needs. I bought one in 2006 and used it until buying this truck and it was still in excellent shape. The tonneau material, weather stripping and single release for both sides are improved from 2006.
