  1. Man, after 7 recalls on my 2014 Sierra All-Terrain I was hoping not to run into issues with my 2016 SLT. My luck mine would have been built one of those days......
  2. I've had both designs. The old school round on my 08 Sierra 1500 SLT that I bought from dealer and installed myself to save a couple hundred and the flat newer type on my 14 All-Terrain that I just traded in on my 2016 SLT. All three were original GMC parts put on 1500 double cabs with reg 6.6'bed. Personally, I like the old school better for looks and function (but I'm an old 59 year old). They seemed sturdier also. I'm finding the ones on the 2016 easier to used then the ones on the 14 though I don't know why. I believe the bodies (fenders, cab, bed panels) are the same on the 14 as they are on the 2016 but I'm not positive of that. Lights/grill are all new but think the sides are unchanged. Anyway, my wife and I prefer having the steps (standard equipment on 2016's SLT's). Makes entering and exiting much easier plus they look pretty good.
