  1. I watched the youtube video. Didn't sound very quiet to me.
  2. Grease does wonders, but not to much. My old Genie is like a Timex, takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Err, squealing!
  3. My daughter is a 25 year old Scientist. She's been shopping for a new Colorado/Canyon, but she wants a Cyber Gray Z71 4x4 Colorado Crew Cab Long Box. We found a Short Box equipped exactly like she wanted last weekend. There was a dealer that had a long box exactly like she wanted, but it had a damaged drivers door that they had to repair. She passed on the phone, but was going to look at it on the weekend. They sold it on Friday. Not many on the lots. Going to check into dealer locating one for a trade, or possibly ordering one if that don't work. They are on constraint right now. I think they are busy building dealer orders, and 2 wheel drives. It wouldn't let me build a 4x4 the other day. The leftover 2014 1500's have some good incentives if you like red and white.
  4. I know this isn't ideal, but in a pinch you can send yourself a text, and attach the pics. It will then reduce/compress it. Once you receive it, then save it in your gallery. Then when you post you can attach it to your post by retrieving it from your gallery, or you can load it into your gallery here at GM Trucks and it will be hosted here.
  5. Don't count on it. But yes, it should.
  6. One post above mine. That is Slavo's truck. But you're right, it is a nice looking truck.
  7. I put a new battery in the garage remote. Cancelled the previous home link setting, and relearned the the trucks remote. It did increase my range from right in front of the garage door to half way down my driveway. Not great but better. The hand remote will open the garage door from the road at the edge of the yard, which is over 2x the distance. I may try a new frequency setting code on the opener, if the door isn't moving fast enough. Doubt that it will make a difference, but you never know? At least I don't have to kiss the garage door with the front bumper now to get it to open.
  8. Looks good! I have thought about it for over a year. I have even seen them on other color trucks, mostly the black/gray stickers. I really like the way yours looks with the red "Z". I put the All Terrain grille in mine and added the Z71 grille badge. Thanks for posting.
  9. There is no safe spot at the mall!
  10. Mine needs to be close too. I have heard that you want a brand new battery when you sync the controller to your truck. I know mine was not new back then, but I intend to see if I can re-sync with a brand new battery this weekend. I guess that the newer battery sends a stronger signal, and therefore syncs in a stronger signal to your trucks controller. I'll let you know if it works. "Hell, I'd piss on a spark plug if I thought it would do any good"!
  11. If you think you want it, get it now. Only a couple hundred now, cannot be added later. Not unless you are willing to spend thousands. This was one of the options I wanted, along with the trailer brake controller, which cannot be added later either. I'm talking about OEM.
  12. They do. "Auxiliary External Transmission Oil Cooler" included and only available with 5.3L V8 engine or Snow Plow Prep Package. As I understand it the tranny fluid is thermostatically controlled to help get it up to temp earlier. Mine runs in the mid 190's in the summer. Depending on the ambient temp, the tranny fluid has to reach a certain level before it will shut down cylinders. The colder it is outside, the higher the temp needs to be on the fluid. In the summer, mine will switch as soon as I reach 3rd gear ^15 MPH putting on the back roads. In the cold winter, it can take several miles, as in 6-10 if it is bitter cold. Sometimes 94 degrees, sometimes 113 degrees.
  13. Must havea lot of snow? All I see is white.

  15. For one, GM only allows about half the time, half the labor for the dealership. The dealership and mechanic can make full labor doing something else. Dealerships get screwed by GM for doing something that should have been discovered in R&D. Sad, but true. That is why you hear all of the lame excuses. Second, I wouldn't doubt they get some kind of award for it? Win for GM, and a win for the dealership. If they are booked up with regular repairs/service, they will not want half priced warranty work. If they have some holes in their sschedule, then half is better than nothing. You are only one guy with a mirror problem. If there were hundreds, it would be much harder for them to blow you off.
  16. Ouch, maybe I won't. The worst tank MPG I have had to date so far in my truck is 17 MPG. That was last winter when I was out playing in the snow, remote starts to warm it up, in the coldest part of the winter. I agree with you on your salt post. We get at least 6 months of that per year up here in MI. MI puts on more salt per lane mile than any other state in the nation, by a large margin. My car doesn't come out until Memorial Day weekend, and is usually back in storage the week after Labor Day. So 3-4 months is all for it.
  17. Don't you mean corned it up? How much of a mileage hit do you take in the winter on the corn juice? Is it like winter blend gas? I may burn a tank of that stuff over the winter, maybe. Just not sure about it, even though I'm surrounded by corn and soy beans.
  18. Looks nice, but still don't blow your mirrors back.
  19. The cruise on/off is the button in the 3 o'clock position. If you want to turn your cruise off, push it. This button turns the cruise symbol in thhe dash off/on. The button in thhe 9 o'clock position only stops the current cruise command, like your brake pedal does. It does not cancel the preset speed, or turn off the cruise feature. You can resume preset speed by pushing the "+" in the 12 o'clock position after stopping previous command with the button in the 9 o'clock position.
  20. Mine went down 2-3 MPG as well after the TC and Peek downloads. I think it is gradually getting better, but cold mornings are not helping. The just wait for winter blend gas, it is a 3 MPG drop.
  21. Thanks, but if I change them out, I want something plug & play.
