  1. If that bed came from Texas then it was from the coast, I live in west Texas and my truck is 11 years old and barely has surface rust on the frame. I'm in the same boat as you , self taught with auto shop class in high school but i dont have as many cool tools as you do lol. Hell i dont even have a garage Good luck with the truck, i enjoy watching the progress on peoples projects
  2. just got this a couple months ago, just v6 but its the premium version with the pony package, basically all the show none of the go. First year of this styling but last year of the 4.0L. got a killer deal on it when i was looking at an older cheaper one at the ford dealer up the street from my house. may get turned into a monster when i finish my truck. 2010 Mustang
  3. my driver side one has been broken for 3 years lol. i've gotten in the habit of reaching back and opening it from the inside.
  4. That'll look sharp. I prefer just the plain 2in cowl hood myself. Is the scoop functional on those?
  5. you looking for them to be waster resistant or just fitted and tough? check these out, supposed to be tough. I been thinking about ordering them myself instead of having the seat redone. https://www.decorauto.com/product/cordura/
  6. Once i get done with the interior on my truck im going to finish the exhaust. I was looking at Magnaflows cats, you can get them as a stand alone weld/clamp in or with all the pipe from the manifold to where they clamp on to the factory exhaust/cat-back, and come in stainless. Kinda pricy for my truck but i like the fact i can just bolt them in and go.
  7. once you go hydroboost all other brakes will feel wierd to you lol.
  8. Sweetwater, TX here and if a get together was organized i'd probably be the only one there with a truck older than this thread lol.
  9. check the cigarette lighter fuse. obd2 port didnt work either when i bought my truck and the guy at auto zone told me to check the fuse and sure enough it was blown , after replacing it obd2 worked again.
  10. Mad respect for you with this truck, all that rust would have made me set it on fire by now. Looking good
  11. always good to have extras to experiment with
  12. looks good, you got another set of blanks on the way lol
  13. Was a good run to the junkyard, found a few pockets and an overhead console... BUT: PM me your adress and i'll get it in the mail tomorrow or monday.
  14. im supposed to get off work early tommorow, so if the bossman sticks to his word i'll be hitting the junkyard tomorrow. if i find a pocket your dash will look better without the airbag switch in a week tops
  15. if i can get to the junkyard this weekend and find a pocket i'll send the whole setup, i'll even see if i can find another square blank to make sure it works.
  16. only the switch not the blank panel wondering if there is a difference between the 99 and 06. i can send the whole setup to you if i can find a pocket to put in mine
  17. on mine it does, same year as your truck, maybe the silverado is a little different?
  18. ok you got me curious so went out and tore my dash apart, here is what i found: i had to cut the little tab closer to the black faceplate off the switch to make it work. the blank panel i just turned upside down also
  19. check the sway bar bushings like silveradosid said, i had an old regal that rattled and thats what it was.
  20. did you try the long piece on the low side too? you quoted me before i edited
  21. thats where my airbag switch is. will the blank fit on both sides? If it does im thinking of relocating my switch out of sight and putting in the pocket. If it will fit i'll mail you the blank piece to put there off my truck. try the long piece on the lower side too if either fits i'll send them
  22. lol yep just looked it up, BUT the picture they show doesnt bode well with my OCD, fitment doesnt look good and the switches are off center so they could label them. I'll prolly just make my own.
  23. i'd leave the labels the way they are, make passengers wonder lol. I'd wire an air horn to the purge button. I wonder if they make one for where the push button 4x4 switches go, mine is old school stick and i have the airbag switch in that spot you show.
  24. If the bed is free take it and make a trailer out of it!
  25. i ran spacers on my jeep for 50k+ miles and on my gmc for about 30k or so with no problems. Just make sure to torque them properly. I used loc tite on mine also to make sure they stay tight. Jeep wasnt a mall crawler either i took it out in the rocks plenty of times, if photobucket wasnt being retarded today i would post up a pic or 2 of it. GMC has hauled a few trailers and heavy loads in the bed.
