  1. If anyone in Las Vegas area with a short bed wants a fold-a-cover G4 Elite and/or personal caddy I put mine up for sale
  2. I know the G4 Elite I had did that
  3. Excuse me? Are you saying I am full of crap because I pointed out that the UltraFlex I installed on my truck now feels cheap and flimsy in comparison to the G4 Elite I had for the last 4 years? I just tell it like it is. This cover doesn't feel like it is in the same category as the G4, but it doesn't mean it's not a good cover! I went with this one because of the fact that it can fold up against the window thus giving me more room when I need it (and I already used it in that position .... and yes the bracket that holds the rod in place already broke) but also because the one thing that I really didn't like about the G4 were the pins that stick out inside the bed, my kids love playing in the bed and I was always worried about those pins sticking out, wouldn't want someone to get hurt or poke their eye out. Also when one of the straps broke I contacted the company to get a warranty replacement I was told to go online and fill out a warranty request form which I did, I waited a few weeks (forgot about it to be honest) and when I remembered I called and was told sorry you are now out of warranty. A few weeks later the other strap on the other side broke anyway. That was just from opening more than just the rear panel. So far the Ultraflex has been good, I've only opened it a handful of times but haven't had any issues with alignment or getting it to shut (with tailgate closed or open) and the only water I got after a pretty heavy rain was in the drain tubes (which I just looped for now, been too lazy to cut the bedrug to route them out). However I would not stand on the cover while folded like I could do with the G4, I don't think it would hold the weight. Also the seal on the sides tend to keep their "folded" shape so it's not smooth/flush but I suppose that is the way it is for a flush mounted cover. Now I have to say for the install the Ultraflex is a 1 out of 10 and the G4 is more of an 8 or 9, getting those latches to work just right was a pain, and if you have a bedrug forget about the personal caddy, I tried and tried and couldn't get the front cover to close properly with the caddy. If I had to buy another cover today I would get the Ultraflex over the G4 Elite, unless I needed something really sturdy and the added safety of lockable latches.
  4. Well I received and installed the Undercover Ultra Flex, coming from the G4 Elite it just seems cheap and flimsy, time will tell
  5. Ended up buying an undercover ultra flex, can't wait to try it out, now I just need to sell my G4 Elite and caddy.
  6. I had a Fold-A-Cover G4 Elite on my first truck, it went with it when I traded it in and I bought a new one for my second truck but the straps that pull the tabs on the middle panels to fold deteriorated and broke off, as well as the ones on the tie down straps, I couldn't even secure the cover while folded anymore, of course this happened right at the 2 year mark and I was SOL on getting it fixed under warranty. I just got a new truck so now I'm looking for a new cover, the G4 Elite was 99.99% waterproof in my experience, and I need something as waterproof as possible. I liked the idea of the Roll-and-lock but I saw it's not waterproof, plus you need to open it to open the tailgate. The undercover ultra flex looks nice but I'm not sure about a pull open cable system, and not sure how waterproof it is. Any other recommendations out there? I'll keep going thru the thread
  7. I needed to load something in the bed that wouldn't fit if I hadn't removed it, and I just never got around to putting it back
  8. I bought the personal caddy too but ended up removing it after a week or so, it's been sitting in my garage since, I can't seem to be able to sell it lol
  9. I wonder what happens if you turn on the lights with the bed lights switch and then put the truck in reverse or unlock it (powering the reverse lights)?
  10. For what it's worth, on my 14 I had an issue where I may have over tightened the latch nuts and messed them up, and I also may have over tightened ( ) one of the striker bolts, I called them asking to purchase replacement and they mailed them to me free of charge!!! I also had a couple questions during that install and they were just a phone call away, really helpful. That's the reason I got another G4 Elite when I got my 15, customer service is very important to me.
  11. Yeah that's about what mine looks like now with the factory spray in liner, well a little less gap but still has a gap. I wonder if adding a strip of weatherseal to the bulkhead like mentioned above would help?
  12. BeauTie, does your truck have spray in bed liner? I too noticed the gap in the front (although mine is minimal) my 2014 had no gap there but also had no spray in liner, my 15 does. And for what it's worth, on my 14 I never had water get in, I have yet to test it on the 15, also, I have had over $25,000 worth of equipment locked in there for a few days several times with no issues, but then again if a thief wants in, he will find a way no matter what you have there.
  13. From my stock 17s that came with the truck I still have brand new sealed GMC caps I need to sell them
  14. My very exciting setup!!!! lol: 2016 Sierra Denali wheels with stock 275/55/20 Continental tires:
