  1. I am torn on what to do. I know I will be doing a single in dual out setup. I just can't decide on which muffler. I have been reading this thread all day and I think I have it narrowed down to two setups; Flowmaster Super 10, Aeroturbine or possible a Series 40. I picked the Flowmaster because it seems a lot of people are using it and like it. I am afraid it may be too aggressive and sound obnoxious. Also, I don't want it to hard to use my handsfree calling or have to keep the music cranked up. Drone doesn't seem to bad with this muffler either. Cost is about right also. I also picked Aeroturbine because that is what I have used in the past on my '05 (3030 - Side dumped) and the sound was pretty decent. It is also what the same shop recommends that did my '05 years ago. I'm just not sure how it will sound with duals as I have been told Aero's are designed for a single exit. The only thing I disliked it about it wasn't quite loud enough. Also it did sound completely different than any other muffler I have heard. I have only seen one guy use this on here and he seemed pretty happy with it. From my research a regular series 40 may fall right in between those two? Any one shed some light on it?
  2. Well I finally took the dive and did some paint correcting from the dealer installed swirl marks. Clayed, two stage polish, sealed and waxed. Keeping a new truck clean is a second job; keeping a black truck clean is a career. She normally get's detailed every weekend inside and out. I'm very OCD about my truck being clean but it get's complimented all the time. I made the new paint look even better.
  3. The only difference that it makes is the bolts for one kit is longer than the other (steel vs aluminum). We install a lot of rough country leveling kits and after finally speaking to rough country, they informed us one kit will work for both, just the bolts will be longer.
  4. I just went through this entire thread and I am amazed. I have always had a soft spot for the 04-06 Silverado body style. My first GM was a 2005 Silverado ECSB so it is really cool to see someone build it back up. I had always dreamed of keeping that truck and building a hot rod motor for it but alas plans changed. Great looking truck and look forward to what you do in the future.
  5. My PDC sensors go hay wire when its below freezing. I can driving down the road and the front sensors show something in front of me for a second then disappear. My truck has 3K miles on but I have a feeling that and the radio is going to need attention.
  6. I ran one tank of 91 and didn't notice anything other than my fuel mileage decreased. It could have been I did not do as much highway driving but I will try another tank this week and see how it does. My truck only has 2,200 miles on it.
  7. What wheels are those if you don't mind me asking?
  8. I am going with a 3030 (3") Aero Turbine muffler with a Y pipe setup with duals. I don't know if I will be doing 2.5" or 2.25" from the muffler back but my exhaust guy will know what we will sound the best. I am still trying to find black chrome exhaust tips like that. I had a 3030 Aero on my '05 and loved it. I had it a single dump right before the rear passenger tire with 3" all the way back. It was throaty and deep and really opened up if you put the skinny pedal down. I had few guys randomly follow me to ask me where I got it done because it sounded and looked really good. I am not a big fan of snap, crackle, pop exhaust typically found with straight pipes. Just a moderate deep tone that let's it breath a little more.
  9. That is what made me fall in love. Doing the exact setup and my exhaust guy quoted me $475 OTD. Not too bad.
  10. This is what I am planning on having my local shop do but not a true dual setup. I love angle on how the exhaust exits with the black tips. Doing a 3" Aero Turbine Y pipe with 2.5" pipes. I loved the Aero Turbine on my '05 5.3L so I am sticking with that.
