Yup, I work for gm and am in Canada, you know where half the population that has 4x4 leaves it in 4x4 for half the year, every year.....You know how many transfer case jobs come through the shop a month? Maybe 1... Maybe and we have 22 mechanical techs and sell trucks like crazy and know for a fact tons of people as soon as a snowflake just the ground are in 4x4 till it's gone. You guys are out to lunch. You read stupid story's on the net and believe everything you read.... Or have "a friend" who drove 3 kms and needed a complete overhaul of his 4x4 system lol.

That's a pic of a 2500s springs from factory on one that was in the shop. Just showing them so people don't wonder wft if they get a set that color. The actual springs are quite a bit bigger than the second set of replacement ones we had in the parts room. The ones I ordered were the same gold color but you may also get a factory set with the same sized black springs as a 1500 but with a long bracket.

Do they have the same graphics for a 2500 hood?

You'd have to go to a wrap shop and get them to custom make you one.

It should fit any 14 and up Sierra. I'm. It aware of any changes that would make it not fit.

Ok here are the rest of the parts you will need and the part numbers. The springs : 84171187 and 184171188 the also come in black and are a bit smaller, same part number, either ones you get will work The duct retainer clips and screws

Ya the hinges part numbers are right, the ones I got were labeled with those numbers but were 1500 hinges. The 2500s are bigger. In my case I just went to the parts room and found another set of 2500 ones and they had the same part number, so someone at GM messed up lol. My springs are not here yet, I will take a pic of them with part number when I get them this week. The 1500 springs are psychically too small and won't attach to the 2500 bracket. The 2500s springs are a gold Color and twice the size.

If you intake is an open style, it will suck air from everywhere. The hot air has no where to go.

I don't know what's different but this exact hood on a 2500 we had in for repair is perfect and on my 17 has a slightly bigger gap around the middle bends of the hood that would be impossible to adjust to fit. It's pretty damn close though. Close enough that I'd fully recommend doing it. I was out tonight and had 3 different people come up and ask me about it.

Ok, so I got my good painted (I'm a painter) And it seems there is some weird thing going on with the part numbers. We ordered new HD springs, the ones listed in the beginning won't fit. The HD hood hinges are longer and the bolt holes are spaced a farther apart than 1500s. It we got in 2 sets with the same part number that are different.... Pretty dumb on Gm's part. I still haven't got the air box. Also keep in mind it's not a perfect fit, the HD grills have a slightly different shape at the grill. It's just slight and not really noticeable but it's there if you are looking. Either way, thanks to the op, it looks great on our trucks, I had lots of people stoping by to take a peek lol

Well I got everything today, the part number for the hood hinges are wrong, it's for a regular aluminum good, not the steel hood. I still have to find the HD hood spring part number The springs are way bigger in the HD. You also don't need the 84097791 or 84097792 as it's the same that's on the truck already.

I should have everything by the end of next week. Hood and chrome trim had to come from the US, so 7-10 days away. Pumped!

Don't buy any of the intake stuff and leave the hole open..... Though that really seems pointless lol

As it turned out, my price was for everything. When I told our parts guy a while ago that I wanted it, he looked up everything. I also just pre sold my current hood for 900$, so the conversion won't cost anything. The hood must be steel, that's the only way it's so cheap.

I'm in Winnipeg, all parts are sooooooo much cheaper in the US. Even at my cost, they are always more lol. I don't need any help with the parts, my boss will get "creative" for me lol.

It's funny, I work at a dealership and wanted to do the same thing to my 17 as I love the look of the new 2500 hoods but we had no idea if they would fit. We were hoping to get spare hood in at some point and I'd try it to see if it would fit but now that it does, I'm gonna go ahead and do it. Thanks for the part numbers OP! Though that hood for me in Canada at my cost is 860$ lol urgh.

Black rhino selkirks with 285/55/20 Toyo OC CTs And a 1.75" front level

I got my 1.75" level kit, new black rhino 20" selkirks with Toyo CTs (285-55-20), AFE CAI and black bear tune all installed yesterday. The rims and tires are 30lbs each, heavier than stock lol so the tune pretty much just brought the truck back to normal speed with the rims and tires lol

We replace frames at our shop on a monthly basis. Right now we have a 2015 canyon getting swapped. It's not really that crazy of a job. The tech gets paid a lot but it's only about 2 days of work.
