  1. Rohnert park California? There must be a dozen dealerships in a fifty mile radius that would be open and happy to help.
  2. Since my error message two months ago I have not had a reoccurrence of the problem. Probably not what you want to hear but my system works as intended, in fact yesterday it updated itself with additional information.. Mine is a 2020.
  3. My 2020 Denali pulled the same trick while driving down the road, when I stopped the engine and started it again the problem no longer existed. I had GM run a diagnostic and it came back all ok. Take your truck to a dealer and have them run a diagnostic of the infotainment center.
  4. Jlong, I bought a 2019 Jeep Cherokee....It did not have a key plus other electronic items to relieve me of having to use my brain. The worst were the stupid no key system and the other was having to press a button after every start to keep the engine from shutting off every time the Jeep came to a stop....I hated these additions to what was an otherwise smooth ,quiet and fun vehicle...I sold it!
  5. I can truly say I am glad I bought my 2020 Canyon rather than wait for a front end rework that would give me nightmares...sorry but the photos would send me home from the dealership with designs on keeping the current truck a lot longer. There I gave my opinion without ever using the word “hideous”.
  6. Yes Doug, GM is remiss in not calling you for technical correction of their transmission woes...better yet why don’t you call them they will be anxiously waiting. I wish someone would help them out before next week when they install an eight speed in my new build. This will be my second Denali with the eight speed, the 2017 ran like a top rarely letting me know it was shifting. I read here that others have had different experiences, hopefully the flush will correct any difficulties they may have encountered. GM has built hundreds of thousands of the eight speed I would like to know what portion of those required maintenance, mine surely did not and I know of several other folks who are quite happy with the transmission.
  7. I have ordered a 2020 Denali to .replace my 2017 Denali, both with eight speed transmissions. I really liked the way the eight speed performed on two trips to Texas (10,000 miles total) and mileage up to thirty MPG (28 average for the second trip:). I have yet to take one of my Canyon’s to a dealer for any repairs whatsoever ( the current ordered Denali will be my fifth). Although some have had problems my truck was trouble free from delivery to trade in.
  8. Johnny one is so correct, in any class action the lawyers get paid for all the “victims” they can drag in but unfortunately the award to an individual is rarely worth the hassle. I’m sure there are many with legitimate complaints about the transmission or other parts but I am also sure there are many thousands of satisfied customers for every complainer. Another unfortunate thing with automobiles in particular is their complexity and dependence on other suppliers for much of the finished product, even with high standards the possibility of a glitch in all those gathered parts is all to real and constant checks and corrections are demanded by the auto manufacturer.....no matter what brand...GM is not the only manufacturer to receive a class action suit or to find part of it’s product requires attention. old chevynut, i just ordered a 2020 Denali to replace my 17...both with an eight speed transmission.
  9. Phillip, I have no intention of reporting a problem to the dealer that does not exist in my truck but does in yours. I also wonder about your statements when my vehicle and several friends with the same engine transmission do not have a problem. My vehicle is run in varying weather conditions from summer nineties to harsh winter’s down to zero, although always garaged when not in operation. I expect to eceive continued good service from my truck and note that GM is continuing to sell vehicles with the V6/8 speed engine-transmission combination so I must assume they are not building tens of thousands of flawed transmissions that are destined to fail early and require maintenance paid for by them.
  10. My 2017 Denali just turned 16,000 with two trips to Texas to its credit(about 10,000 miles total) both with the bed stuffed full of ammo and guns for hunting and plinking...the truck was heavy. Both trips averaged 25 mpg and the eight speed was smooth and responsive when needed, in all my mileage I have no reason to complain about the transmission and have felt it was far better than my six speed 2015. In fact this truck from bumper to bumper is the best driving vehicle I have owned ( and I have had a bunch of new cars) nd maybe I will keep it beyond the next update of the series.
  11. I decided that since I had Memorial Day off so could my truck and drove the lawnmower instead......cut the lawn better than my Denali would have anyway.
  12. Mike, Check out the G43 before buying, I have a G 42 and love it, bought G 43 and was supprisingly disappointed in it as a whole. First it had function problems that probably would work themselves out, however it did not feel good in my hand, did not point well, had more recoil than it should have ( spoiled by my 938) so I just generally hated it. Finally traded it to a buddy for a P 238 ( made three for me so I really did not need it) and a dozen Sig and Mustang magazines.I'm sure I got the better part of the deal. That was my experience, you may find the weapon to your liking.
  13. Not an easy question to answer, I have an eye for small concealable firearms and carried a duty weapon and back up when I worked in uniform, latter it was the easiest to pack and conceal with plain clothes. I carried a LW Commander in 9mm or a S&W Mod 3913 9mm but now retired I vacillate between: Sig P 238---.380 Kimber Micro ---.380 Colt Mustang---.380 Glock G42---.380 S&W Bodyguard---.380 S&W Shield----9mm Sig P 938---9mm Along with an SCCY 9mm for a "truck gun" But my best defense is Maddie, the Westie I am holding in the photo...she would lick the bad guy to death.
  14. Since my retiremennt i no longer carry a large sized pistol withbplain clothing and normally have a Sig P238, P938 or at times a Glock 42. Inalso keep an SCCY 9mm in the truck for those rare times when i leave my CC pistol at home.
