  1. Ya they were not cheap but I paid 550$ (canadian) with harness (wrong harness though so had to do the DIY kit) but considering the mirrors alone sell new for 800 plus tax here it was worth it.
  2. Thanks!! i like it more with the tow mirrors now haha. I was going to get the DL3 mirrors but the wife didn't want to drive with the camper behind without the tow mirrors so it was a good excuse to get them haha. And coincidentally as i started vaguely looking someone was selling these locally for 550$ (Canadian) with the harness, although he sent me the stock harnesses and not the tow mirror ones but was an easy fix with the DIY kit from Phil. I just have a spare DL8 harness now or can sell it with my current DL8 mirrors.
  3. I got a set of OEM power folds for a good deal locally someone was selling. I got the chrome caps painted black so maybe that's why they dont look like OEM or aftermarket. Only the one side had a sticker with a part number and it was 84041609. Not sure if that helps
  4. Just want to say thanks to@pgamboa for doing this write-up and for the DIY harness. Easy to do and easy to follow steps. Also. For anyone that screw up like me and puts the wire in the wrong hole for the X510/X610 you can remove it with a small screwdriver. Just put it in the hole above the pin and push out. Hard to see but I took a pic of how I did it below. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk
  5. with a rockford LOC, I can confirm that even with it set to lowest possible. the chime still gets amplified so when you start the truck the 4 chimes it does are really loud. The flasher doesn't though for some reason.
  6. If anyone in Canada is looking for to do this. There's one for sale on the Quebec silverado Sierra Facebook group for 570$ Canadian. Not sure if it includes everything needed but descent price
  7. From what I read in the thread the airbag is different. But my guess is something else is different since gm has a different part number.
  8. If anyone with a 2500 is looking for one, good price (from what i've seen) on ebay here for a brand new one. too bad i dont have a 2500 https://www.ebay.ca/itm/84222916-Chevy-Silverado-2015-2016-2017-HEATED-LEATHER-STEERING-WHEEL-Black-NEW/302777147629?hash=item467eeca0ed:g:QgAAAOSwllpbKRXg
  9. Call a few dealers and find out. I asked my sales guy for a friend and he said if you have Onstar already, then you just have to call Onstar and have a reset done to enable the app. also, a coworkers bf had it installed in his by the dealer when he purchased the truck, he got a WT model, and it works with the app.
  10. so an update. I finally had time to get this going after a few hectic months. apparently my pins were not strong enough. when i tried to push them into the wires. they broke. ill have to look at another way to do it and report back.
  11. Just an update here. Have the circuit made (not pretty but gotta test things out first and figure out wire lenght but the circuit is made (lambys) Wife had a car accident last week. Shes OK but we've been car shopping since it got written off. Maybe this weekend I'll have time to put it in finally. Sent from my ASUS_Z012DC using Tapatalk
  12. Email sent regarding this and a few other questions.
  13. i managed to go get some stuff yesterday but didnt do anything more then that. im just getting over a cold so that didn't help things haha. hopefully its nice at some point this week and stops raining so i can get this going.
  14. Thanks. ill be doing some testing next week. ill have to make time for it. The issue with just a diode is that's what ppl have been doing already and they can't turn the fog lights off if they want. I know im a pain in the ass for wanting to turn them off haha.
  15. Coby and Lamby Thanks so much for the time spent on this. I'll have to go get some relays and diodes and test this out as for the auto dimming high beams, my truck does not have them.
  16. Why not is the question? I'd like to have the fog light switch still work as it should from factory. Just my preference.
  17. Hey Lamby Sorry, been a busy week and didn't have time to investigate the fog light switch but looks like you've already figured it out. What I'm looking for is for the fog lights to turn on when the lights come on, so the low beams, but also be able to turn them off if i want to. Essentially the simple diode would work but then i can't turn the fogs off if i want to I'm not worried about the fog lights being on or off with the high beams so that part isn't a must if its too hard to do.
  18. I'll keep you posted on when I take the switch out to do some testing with it. Hopefully this weekend as I have a few other things to do to the truck. It's wishful thinking that its going to be simple but I've heard of a few cars with the traction control being disabled that easily. So who knows. Sent from my ASUS_Z012DC using Tapatalk
  19. That's a good idea that i never even though about. just figured there was maybe an easier way that someone already figured out. only thing is it wouldn't need to be that complicated. We would only need one relay really if the fog light switch is a simple on/off switch. If it is and we assume its always a negative output until its turned on. we could just add a relay to swap the negative output to make it a positive output so it would always be on instead of off. now there are a few factors in this but it could essentially be that simple. when i have time I'll see if i can take the switch out to see what it looks like and do some testing. Thanks for the idea Arcasey!
  20. So i just read through a lot of pages and there's one little detail that seems i would want that this mod does not offer. i would like to still be able to control the fog lights with the stock switch. Seems like this may be the only way to do what i want to do really.
  21. Sorry, didnt have time to go through the whole thing. ill take a better look. Thanks Perfect. Thanks exactly my thoughts! we had a ton of fog the other day and they literally did nothing to help my visibility. so far every vehicle I've owned has been the same. The fog lights are pretty much aesthetics
  22. I saw that thread. Probably going to do that but also but not what i was looking for.
  23. Wondering if there's a way to get the fog lights to come on when the lights come on in the truck (2017 silverado). Find it annoying that you have to press the button to turn them on every time. Tried searching but didn't seem to find anything.
  24. So far he seems to like the truck. He has lots of room compared to the back of a mazda 3!
