GM now revised the recall and are replacing all 2021-2024 L87's. Wow this is going to be huge and take years like the Toyota frame replacements. Going to cost billions.

80k Thought it was tire noise, replaced tires (no slop or wiggle when grabbing the wheels on a jack). Drive truck after new tires, aahhhhhhhhh Turns out both front wheel bearings shot. 80k

Replaced both front magneride struts with OEM on my 2017 Sierra Denali. Of course I broke one of the connectors. Zip tied it. Getting sporadic "service suspension" message, not every key cycle either. So I thought it was a bad connection from the broken clip. So I cut the clip, and spliced and hardwired. Still getting the service suspension message. It's usually after about 5 min of driving. Not at initial startup. Do I need any type of reset or trim level relearn? The only other variable i can think of is i didn't disconnect the ride height sensors when I separated the upper ball joints, so when the suspension went at full droop, could that have messed up something if the ride height sensors moved out of their normal range of travel?

I wanna say it was around like 300 bucks. I think they charged me like 2 hrs labor

Should be safe with 275/60/20 which is a 33" Any bigger probably rub

They flipped all tires inside out and rebalanced and I did see them using some beadsealer. I didn't see them try cleaning them up at all though. They didn't charge me anything, I got the impression they didn't want to deal with it.

Interesting. I thought about reaching out to a wheel repair place. But to be honest, damn at 250 per wheel, i would just buy a new set of Fuel wheels probably.

All 4 tires been leaking pretty decently. No nails or screws i could find, so figured bead leaks. Finally got to be annoying enough adding air every week that I got the truck in to discount tire. Come to find out they tell me all 4 rims have significant corrosion on the bead lip. I said well are you able to hit them with a wire wheel and use bead sealer or anything? They didn't seem very interested and basically said the wheels are junk. Said they see it on GM and Ford trucks all the time. I have never heard of it being common, nor have I ever had a rum failure on any other vehicles. I know a rim is a rim, but I guess what chaps me most is these "premium" wheels were $2995 option. Anyways, any of you guys encounter this issue?

The 6 and 10 speeds are both way less troublesome than the 8 speed

That sounds like the trans temp sensor failing. Common problem on the 8 speeds. Do you get an actual transmission temp reading or is your gauge stuck at zero?

Just curious who's got 100k or 200k on their 8 speed? Just getting my truck paid off now and at 74k miles, really worrying about the long-term reliability of the 8 speed and wondering if I should trade now while it's still worth something. Had a new valve body at 18k and the new mobil 1 atf at 54k to solve the shuddering. All good so far since

From what I understand with the Joint venture 10 spd between GM and Ford is the hardware was co developed together. But the software and programming are exclusive to each. And the GM 10 spd doesn't seem to he having the issues Ford has.

Right, that's what in wondering. Still not saying afm is a great system because it obviously isn't. But GM had 15 yrs to hone it. Verses brand new DFM on the T1's

It seems to me like the T1 Trucks with DFM seem to have higher lifter failure rates than the K2 trucks with AFM? I know there are some dealer techs and service writers on here. Just wondering what you guys are seeing? Or am I totally off base? That's possible too

The way I look at it is, pick your poison. They all have their inherent issues you need to sort through. Ford has had a lot of problems with their 10 speed. Good luck.

That's great life out of the 5.3. AFM still intact or have you used a range disabled? And what about a catch can?

I just don't get scenarios like this. So you can afford a $60k truck, but you can't afford a couple hundred bucks more a month or year in gas? Just doesn't make sense to me. It's like the same thing as people who buy a second vehicle to offset fuel prices. But not taking into account the added insurance, maintenance, taxes, upfront purchase cost, etc, it's usually a wash. Shrug
