When I bought my gasser this year I at first ordered a diesel truck then didn't sleep for two nights because I just couldn't justify the need for a diesel, wasn't going to be towing that much. Love the look of the Duramax truck, always kind of wanted a diesel but I got $10K smarter and changed the order to the 6.0 gas motor.

I also have the flex 6.0 in a '17 2500. With 3400 miles on the truck now my lifetime average is 13.5 (hand calculated but the DIC shows the same numbers). Normal driving for me is about 35 miles of highway at 70mph with 10 miles or so in city traffic. On highway trips I've seen as high as 17.5 when driving 55-65 through rolling/mountanious terrain. I expect better once long haul, at least until I hitch the trailer on.

Let's hope not.

Back to the dealer again! This time to exchange the GM in channel wind deflectors. After installing the deflectors I noticed wind noise on the drivers side that I couldn't resolve. Determined the driver side deflector was "loose" in the channel but passenger side was a snug fit. Pulled them out and compared, the drivers side is about 5/16" shorter. No wonder it's loose and leaks air. Really hoping it won't be a hassle to exchange, then of course they won't be in stock so it'll be another two weeks waiting.

Here in Alaska we get these swarms of little green beetles. I've watched the windscreen of my airplane go nearly opaque flying through a swarm.

Water does wonders for bugs. Dripping wet rag to get the bugs wet, let 'em soak for a bit then wipe off with minimal scrubbing.

Just sat in it trying to learn this horrible interface to the Nav system. Will probably buy a Garmin.

I hit 176000 on the 2007 coming back from dropping off the 2017.

To the dealer to get the right front seat replaced. Seat back adjustment motor froze with seat back all the way forward.

Had a '99 with 506 miles on it. Was thinking "woohoo! break-in competed" when the rear shaft rear u-joint let go at about 75mph. Boy oh boy, talk about vibration....mirrors were a blur but could see I was trailing what looked like smoke. Eased to the shoulder and shut it down, looked underneath to see tranny fluid gushing out onto ground. Rut row!! Bent drive shaft, ripped the side out of the transfer case, busted rear spring shackle, elongated the spline hole in the rear end and other things I can't remember. Dealer was a pain, instead of just looking around to see what got broke I had to go back every time I found something else...took about a year to finally get it all done. Just rolled over 501 miles on the '17 2500 today......

I went for a short drive just to drive it. Almost hit a yearly moose that ran out in front of me. I've got a whopping 240 miles on it now.
