Finally went for it and plastidipped the taillights, 3rd brake, and bowties for ~$12. Never used plastidip before and am a horrible painter, but it was cake. I previously used decal overlays on the bowties, but they weren't holding up in this florida heat. The taillights are too bright red my taste so i wanted just a little darker, but still safe ( Not trying to have someone slam into me because they cant see them illuminated). Taillights are 1 layer of black and 3 of glossifier. 2 coats of the black makes it solid black so i stuck with 1. its has that somewhat spotty spray paint 1st coat look, but i can live with it. The bowties are 3 layers black and 3 glossifier and look so much better than the vinyl overlays. I don't have any complaints yet.
