I have a 1500 crew cab AT. I just bought a camper and need bigger mirrors. What do you all recommend? My concern is that those larger mirrors that replace the factory might look very out of place when I’m not towing, which is 90% of the time. i have read there are clip on type mirrors but not sure how they perform and hold up
I have Goodyear Wrangler STAs and it is time to get new tires. After much research on this site and others as suggested, I decided on Michelin Defender LTXs. I then called the local tire shops and both owners told me that those tires are great highway tires but are absolute junk in any kind of inclement weather. Does anyone here have those that could offer some advice? I will mostly be on the highway but I want something that can handle the snow decently since I am a Fire Fighter and work 24 hour shifts regardless of the weather. Thanks
Thank you for your input. I started reading on towing forums and so many people slam those towing with 1/2 tons and urge you to try a 3/4 or 1 ton. I am not upgrading my truck, I love my HT.
My 2016 Sierra AT is a 5.3 v8 with a 3.43 gear ratio, says I can tow 9,100 lbs and I have a 1,496 lb payload. I bought a 6,400 pound travel trailer, 32’ long from hitch to end, 660 tongue weight with an Anderson weight distribution hitch. Everyone says towing a TT with a half ton is dangerous but if I’m careful I think I’ll be ok. My truck doesn’t have a brake controller so I was going to get the P3 everyone talks about. My question is where do you mount it? I see some mount it low but that doesn’t make sense to me. Also, I don’t want to get rid of my mirrors. Are there good clip on type mirrors I can buy that will do the job? any help is appreciated.

Hey all, First let me say, that I have searched this forum in and out, and it has just led to more confusion. Simply put, I am unhappy with how quiet my 2016 Sierra 5.3L is stock, and I want something a little louder(not crazy loud), a nice deeper noise but as little of interior cab drone as possible, single exit, not dual. I want a cat back system that is ready to go, not one that I have to do all of these things spoken about on the forum(deleting resonators, clappers, etc..). Any recommendations? I was looking at the MBRP 3" single exit, but I then read that there was highway drone, which is what I want to avoid if possible, I feel like drone is something that you will grow to hate Thank you in advance!
Hey all, 2016 GMC Sierra, I just noticed a small rust spot on my drivers side running board(stainless steel I assume), about the size a drop of water, any recommendations? It will not scrub off with soap & water TIA

I have owned my 2016 Sierra All Terrain Crew(5.3) for almost a month now, and I have a few questions regarding fuel economy and the numerous tools used to track it within the system on the truck. First off, what are you guys usually averaging on a normal day to day basis with a mix in highway and some stop lights and rural roads? I have a VERY light foot and I am only seeing 13-14 at best and it is making me think something is wrong. Second, how accurate is that active fuel gauge that shows your instant MPG reading? Will an upgraded air intake improve this at all? I have to say that this 8 speed transmission is a huge disappointment, shifting at lower speeds is a bit clunky and not a very smooth drive, and I have had the update done recently. Truck only has 20k miles on it...
So today’s update... the dealership can not figure out or recreate this issue. But because it’s so serious and a safety issue(truck pretty much shut off going 50-60mph on a highway) they have given me a loaner and are going to keep it until they figure it out, and are going to bring in GMs engineers to try and help. If they are unable to find or fix anything, they have said they will but the truck back from me.
