  1. This just happened to me a week ago. I threw in a zip tie and its been rock solid ever since.
  2. I found that the customer service reps weren't relaying the proper info to the technicians. It might help to leave a note in your truck asking to look up the bulletin number. When I booked it in this last visit, i felt like the guy didn't take note of half the info i gave. Like the noise goes away when cranking the wheel hard left. This was my 4th visit regarding this issue, and 2nd time saying the turning left "fix". When I dropped off the truck, another guy took the keys and I mentioned it again. He checked the system and nothing was noted. I told hime about the bulletin and it seemed like he made note. Couple hours goes by and I get the phone call saying that information helped a lot. Good luck, the fix is out there.. Lol
  3. Just got my truck back, #pip5570 fixed it. I had to tell them about the code (twice). They said it was obvious as soon as they removed the old boot. Anyways, thanks everyone. My truck sounds amazing once again.. ?
  4. It's being discussed with a possible solution over here...
  5. Ya i googled it and found this : Bulletin Number: PIP5570 This Preliminary information communicates to the dealer a conditionwhere a tick noise may be present inside a vehicle while driving. This may be the result of a deformed or improperly seated steering shaft seal allowing engine compartment
  6. Awesome! This is literally the only thing wrong with my truck.. Glad too see this. Thanks for posting ???
  7. Hahaha.. Don't worry, we'll find it.. All i can say is I'm glad its not a complete engineering failure. I'd be really pissed if it was some kind of safety concern, or a mechanical disaster.. Our 2011 equinox! I'm so glad gm owned up to all the problems. Basically had to rebuild the whole motor - after warranty.
  8. What disappointment. I just got my truck back and they said the noise was gone. As soon as I drove it of the lot i heard the noise..
  9. Booked it in for my last free oil change for Wednesday. I had a tech sit in it and I demonstrated how to silence it. He looked baffled. I also asked if the wax on the frame was covered since its showing a couple spots of bare metal. Which it is! So hopefully by Thursday evening, I'll have a free undercoating and dead silence..
  10. I just did the one experimentent. Its definitely bang on the money. It came back as I started driving. I'll be going in for my last freebie oil change soon. It'll be my 3rd attention to have this addressed. At least now we can demonstrate how to silence the sound to a tech.. Narrows down the guess work bigtime.
  11. Son of b!tch.. That worked.. Thank you so much
  12. I wonder if a ford tech will fix it.. Lol.. I don't see them selling it if it's as bad as you say. You should stop in and ask them what it was..
  13. I've been chasing this sound for a while now. I dont believe it's an exhaust leak. Im able to produce a constant sound in manual mode. I drove in second gear and approached a set of train tracks. Going over the tracks, the sound would cut out and return. Im starting to lean towards it being a rattle. Possibly a heat shield as already mentioned. Driving me nuts because its the only thing wrong with my truck.
