  1. .. got the engine spun up to around 5200rpm on the way home tonight ..no not on purpose.. truck downshifted too far while going uphill (maybe 4-5° grade) with the cruise set at 82kmh (50mph) (same route I drive to work everyday).. trans stayed in that gear while I had to jump on the brakes and slow the truck right down to 50kmh (30mph) to get the rpms down then it started shifting normally again. I hope this doesn't become a habit with this transmission
  2. ..front Husky Weatherbeaters floor liners arrived and installed.. nice edge to edge coverage for $135CDN shipped
  3. .. got a cheap pair of black aluminum license plate frames on eBay.. put Silverado decals on them that were leftover from my engine cover.. for around $5 it cleans up the front and rear plates nicely.
  4. .. snapped a pic of this car a couple spots ahead of me in the Tim Horton's drive thru.. gotta love country girls!
  5. .. that just plain sucks .. but I hear they make pretty good snow tires lol
  6. .. just to add to the winter is here thread.. I may be in the minority but I wait all year for winter to arrive.. I'm an avid snowboarder and there is no substitute for a day spent on top of the mountain or in the glades. This year will be rough as I'm unable to get any snowboarding in due to my back injury... but like ShubiSnax said at least I can still go out and play in the snow with my Silverado
  7. .. grabbed a couple pics this morning of the Adarac in the daylight.. uprights installed and uprights removed.. really like how quickly the uprights go on and off.. it's like having an instant cargo rack only when I need it.
  8. .. just finished installing a new Adarac cargo rack on the truck.. grabbed a couple quick pics in the dark.. fit is great and works perfectly with my tonneau cover. I needed something to haul the kayaks around with so I settled on the Adarac design as the side rails can stay mounted but the cargo rack uprights are a quick on/off with a couple bolts. I will also be adding cross bars at bed level using strut channel to create mountain bike/snowboard racks when needed. When I'm not hauling anything and the uprights are removed the rack side rails are barely noticeable.
  9. .. really miss not having a spot on the dash to put odds n ends, cellphone etc. Picked up a silicone mat on Amazon.. keeps my cell in place on the dash perfect now.
  10. .. eBay http://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F132503284500 .. decal comes as a pair.. I was also considering placing them on the valve covers but didn't think they would last there so the engine cover won and I have extra for a license plate frame
  11. .. ok since Halloween is now over and the snow has already hit the ground it's time to dress the truck for the Christmas season
  12. .. added a decal to the side of my engine cover .. just in time for trick or treating.. Happy Halloween!
  13. Amazon $8 door popper arrived.. installed on my auto open tailgate and now it works great with the tonneau cover
  14. added some black bowtie decals to the center caps on my winter wheels
  15. .. hit 2000km in the truck today.. I know the DIC estimate isn't 100% accurate but I'm still really loving the gas mileage in these trucks.. especially considering my F150 was in the 18-20 l/100km range 9.6 l/100km = 24.5mpg 18 l/100km = 13mpg
  16. Used $18 CDN Amazon TPMS tool to teach the new pressure sensors in my winter rims. Worked great!
  17. installed Jam Handles.. and put my winter tires on.. Suburban 20s with a fresh coat of white paint..
  18. .. got my rear stake pocket covers today.. should keep the snow from collecting in there and cleans up the bed rails..
  19. .. lol it is unmistakable.. kinda like the smell of tire burnouts.. only without the smile on your face
  20. .. if you're interested you can put together a relatively simple 555 PWM (DRL) sensing circuit to only enable the HID when full 12VDC is applied (lights on - no DRL). I ran this setup on my F150 and Jeep HIDs with great success. Here's a link with details on another forum.. https://www.electro-tech-online.com/threads/need-help-making-a-circuit-to-sense-pwm-on-12v-auto-headlight-drl.91764/
  21. .. as long as he has a window to stick his head out that's all he needs lol
  22. .. relocated my front plate to the drivers side of the bumper to make room for my lightbar install between the tow hooks.. but now the wife likes the clean look with the plate to the side.. so the lightbar may or may not make it onto the truck lol
