  1. .. no, I've had white trim before (even an entire white dash once) and I've always found an increase in glare/reflections on the window glass with white
  2. .. hitting 0 for 2 today.. began wrapping my silver interior trim with carbon fiber vinyl.. got the passenger side vent trim done and decided there just wasnt enough contrast to the black dash and went back to original silver.
  3. .. well it doesn't happen often.. but I had to bow to my wife's better judgement today . I decided to wrap the pillars between the doors as I was positive it would look better (maybe I'm just conditioned to believe that from looking at my F150) but she was right.. before and after pics.. stood back looked at it.. then agreed and removed the wrap
  4. .. taking bc-chris' suggestion a little further (the startup animation may be fun) does anyone here happen to already know the developer code for the 18 mylink for the build version below? I didn't find anything useful on developer.gm.com edit.. it doesn't appear that this is easily done on the 17/18 versions
  5. LOL.. I had thought about rigging up an Arduino with mp3 to play that to replace the door open chime.. but the wife would never go for that!.. good thing she keeps me from going too far (yes that has happened in the past )
  6. .. night shots of the front turn lights.. never know there was anything on them at night. Also tested out the tailgate light strip I put on today.. really happy with it so far.. hopefully it lasts for a while.. got this one on Amazon
  7. .."blacked out" the front orange signal lights with perforated black vinyl.. gives it the tinted look but still passes all the light thru.. Before and After:
  8. .. once I figured out how/where the brackets attached it was only about 10mins each side to install.. the first one was on and off 3 times until I was happy with it.. she wasnt impressed. I'll go back around tomorrow and add blue loctite to each fastener and I'll spray the underside/back of the bars with Krown/Rust Check/Fluid Film.. which ever I have laying around
  9. ..HDX step bars installed.. started a thread for anyone planning on installing these
  10. agreed .. I just meant the caps are sealed and nothing is getting in that way.. the Krown should take care of anything else that finds an alternative entry ( I hope! )
  11. .. Raven was absolutely correct.. purchased on Amazon for $10.99CAD (Homyl Ltd) .. if the weather cooperates I'll install the Hdx this weekend.. by that I mean the wife will install them (damn back injury).. I'll just provide the coaching.. gotta love her
  12. they are plastic not rubber and they are a perfect fit.. need to tap them in with a rubber mallet.. I wiped grease around the tubes and the plug before installing.. I would be quite confident that these are watertight.. and I just had the tubes completely sprayed down with Krown rust control before I installed the plugs
  13. .. that sucks.. that's quite a downgrade for a rental for 4-6wk
  14. installed frame plugs to keep all the winter salt out of the rear frame tubes
  15. .. I have run HID kits in the past.. usually one light not working or randomly working is due to lack of power- make sure you are running power via relay direct from battery. The other common issue is flickering lights but this is easily solved by adding a capacitor.. also a good idea to carry a spare ballast in your truck..
  16. .. busy day yesterday.. tint matched my front windows to the back doors.. Krown rust sprayed the truck.. Hdx step bars arrived well packaged and look good.. need to wait a few days to install due to the Krown spray dripping .. picked up a set of DL3 mirrors & harness's brand new dealer removed.. ordered Phil's diy harness kit today (thanks Phil ) and a mirror fold module from Amazon.. still need to make a trip to the dealer to get the switch
  17. LOL, yes I've been to Halifax a couple of times.. but in the summer of course.. we do try to compensate for your natural salt air by spreading more than 2 million tonnes of salt on the roads in Ontario each year.. and now we're converting to using calcium chloride too.. which does an even better job attacking vehicles
  18. I just ordered them but they will arrive Monday.. I'll throw up some pics when I install them next week.. cost wise they are around $400USD or $500CAD.. I also need to deal with winter salt living in Ontario - the salt center of the universe
