  1. Looking for any insight on the following issues that have occurred in the last 6 months. 2015 GMC Sierra Duramax with a Duramax Tuner tune, Kennedy lift pumps installed for the last 3 years. - Hit a bump on a dirt road, nothing excessive, transmission dropped out and both Reverse & Drive would flash at you from the instrument panel and BOTH would move the truck backwards "weakly". Ended up disconnecting/reconnecting both batteries and proceeded onwards with no further issues. MIL light came on, can't remember the code # but something about a transmission circuit temporarily losing power. - Spinning wheels on snow (2wd) at low speed, I don't remember any large bump, transmission dropped out same symptoms as above but truck would not move at all in any gear. Battery disconnection did not solve issue, ended up connecting the phone to my AutoAgent, and cleared the codes and was able to drive on. Code was P0777 Pressure Control Solenoid B Stuck On - Driving slowly on a dirt road, went through a very large pothole that bucked the truck pretty hard, engine stalled instantly, IP stayed on and lit, engine restarted without incident. Later that day I noticed the IP said to fully raise and lower the driver's window, which I usually see after dis-connecting the battery. No codes or MIL. - Locked up the brakes in heavy snow, could feel ABS trying to activate, no large impact, truck stalled instantly. Restarted without incident, no codes or MIL, no indication about resetting the driver's window. It was very dark and I don't remember seeing the instrument panel blank out or anything like that. I know, go through the grounds. I did recently replace the factory battery ground cable with a new OEM cable, and cleaned up the passenger side frame ground but haven't looked at the others yet. Thanks for any troubleshooting ideas.
  2. I had this problem (can't set presets 2015 GMC Bose) after a battery reset and using settings to erase private data as mentioned above fixed the issue. Probably I could have just disconnected the batteries again to do the same thing, but maybe not, as I had been able to set 3 pre-sets after the battery disconnect, but some time later I could no longer set pre-sets. AFter clearing private data everything worked again. For the record, I have disconnected the batteries many times on this truck and never had that problem before, but I was glad it was easy to fix. Just replying to highlight this problem/solution.
  3. Yes - I guess its been in there a year now and I've had no problems at all, sounds great and can still store a lot of stuff under the passenger side. I've been hot rodding for years so it was just a typical fab job for me, but I have to say if you brought it into a custom professional it would be a very expensive project. When its time to sell the truck I will just build a sheetmetal plate and bolt and seal it in you'd never know it was there unless you pulled the back seat out and pulled the carpet up and even then so what ? It will be a 150k mile truck when I sell it and it won't even mattter. I'm super happy with this solution. Here's a pic of the cabinet before it was mounted underneath the truck. You can see it has been shaped to fit around the fuel lines on the frame rail side.
  4. Or you could do what I did - Sub floor mounted 2.5 cu ft subwoofer box, Alpine Type-R 15", uses a minimum of under seat storage area. The box fit right in front of the fuel tank and after covering it with fiberglass and undercoating it looks almost OEM (and you only see it if you crawl under the truck). Obviously a major fab job including cutting a 12" square hole in the floor but I thought someone might find it interesting. (hole was framed with 1/4" steel and is much stiffer even with no box mounting than the original 20awg flat steel in this area. Upper and lower box sandwich the frame and clamped with 12 bolts). Sounds awesome and will massage your brain out if you put on rap music. Funny thing is I'm all about hi fidelity and usually listen to light jazz, but I tend to get carried away with things.
