  1. Somehow I doubt the antimalarial drug boxes have COVID-19 related warnings on them...
  2. I guess some folks will say this is fake news too, given the source... https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/05/22/hydroxychloroquine-coronavirus-study/
  3. Must be loaded right up then? The most expensive Custom TB I can build on the Chevy Canada site is $55k CAD (assuming $2500 for the 6.2, which says "see dealer for pricing"), which by my math should work out to around $48k USD.
  4. Good points but if we had E0 87 octane here, my dad wouldn't have to pay an extra 80 cents per gallon to put premium in his boat. We also wouldn't need fuel stabilizer for our lawn mowers and other small engines that sit over winter.
  5. Must be nice...
  6. A couple things that I think might have been missed or glossed over: -You don't need to get a 6.2 to get the 10 speed any more; the 5.3 is paired with the 10 speed on the Sierra SLE and up as of 2020. -If I recall correctly from the research I've done, a 5.3 with NHT has higher payload than an equivalently specced 6.2 with NHT due to being lighter. As mentioned above, when towing "heavy" with a halfton, you run out of payload long before you run out of towing capacity. I'm not trying to say that the 5.3 will tow better than the 6.2 but, given that you can't really safely tow more than about 8000 lbs with a halfton, payload may end up being more important than power. When I was shopping K2s, a 6.2 was definitely not on my radar because, aside from the $2500 CAD upcharge and the recommendation to run premium (which I would do because I'm scared of knock and because if I pay for the power, I want all of it all the time), I also would have had to look at an LTZ/ SLT rather than an LT/SLE. On the T1s, it is nice to see the 6.2 in lower trims. If I were buying one, I would probably look at an RST with the 6.2 and NHT and an Elevation with the 5.3, 10 speed and NHT and do an analysis of purchase cost and ownership costs over, say, 10 years, given that premium is 20 cents CAD per litre (80 cents per gallon) more than regular here.
  7. Custom TB with the old 5.3? Edit: I see the OP already confirmed this.
  8. I thought the Great Depression only ended because of WWII. If we are heading into a depression, I certainly hope that won't be the solution this time.
  9. So Fox News isn't part of the mainstream media?
  10. I finally found time to sit down and watch the entire thing. Some interesting points. Some things that don't make sense to me: As far as I know, in Canada, university employees are not government employees. Maybe it's different in the U.S.? I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing for universities to hold patents. Again, unless the word "university" has a very different meaning in the U.S., I think it's more likely that they would be looking out for the public good than corporations. Why was she working on making Ebola infectious to humans? What could Faucci possibly gain from killing a bunch of Africans who wouldn't be able to afford his drugs anyway? How can she be so sure that a ventilator is the wrong treatment and that hydroxychloroquine is the right one? I thought she wasn't allowed to do medical research any more. Our flu vaccines have had H1N1 in them since at least 2012, if not longer, so to try to blame that for deaths in Italy in 2020 is ridiculous. How does she know Italy's flu vaccine wasn't tested? Again, she's not in that world any more. We have thousands of pages of data saying that hydroxychloroquine has been effective against malaria, which is an infectious disease borne by parasites and doesn't affect the lungs, for 70 years. What does that have to do with a brand new coronavirus that is transmitted by airborne droplets, does affect the lungs and that we've just started to study? So this lady single handedly cured AIDS, autism and COVID-19 (and also created ebola) and then Faucci, Bayer, Monsanto (a crop science company, FYI), the FDA, the CDC and the WHO all told her "no, we want these people to suffer instead"? Natural remedies are better than medications developed through the application of science and technology. Ok, I guess we should go back to smoke signals and horses, too. Everyone turn in your phones and your Silverados at Judy's house. If I wear a mask, I'll get sick from my own viruses. Viruses that I already have in my body will enter my body and make me sick... I don't even know how to respond to something so utterly ridiculous. Sand and salt water have healing properties, eh? Just like the radium in the hot springs people traveled to use 100 years ago, I guess. She says she not against vaccines then says we shouldn't get vaccinated (particularly against the flu) and should go back to the old natural remedies...
  11. But then as soon as you end up in hospital with lung cancer, your insurance company realizes you lied and takes away your coverage.
  12. Don't they already do it that way? My health/ life insurance plan through work has a question on the form for if I'm a smoker or not.
  13. A man gets shot in the chest. He runs back into his burning house, inhaling smoke and carbon monoxide as he goes. The roof collapses on top of him. What killed him?
  14. Don't forget all the books that didn't make it into the Bible because their theology didn't align with the Council of Nicea's.
  15. If I recall correctly, when this virus first hit us we thought there was about a two week delay between exposure and a resultant increase in cases. So if the reopening in Georgia is going to lead to more infections, we should start to see that in the next few days and start to get an idea of what the impact of reopening may look like. Speaking of hypocrisy, I read somewhere that the Georgia governor's mansion is not open to the public for tours because we're in the middle of a pandemic and it's not safe...
  16. How long ago was the opening? (I honestly can't keep my days and weeks straight any more.)
  17. When I test drove an Accord coupe about 5 years ago, I wondered why I'd ever buy a two door mid size that was big enough to need this. Really, all they need to do is drop the beltline and they could eliminate that "feature".
  18. Another vote for the column shifter here
  19. I don't think people here are saying they're scared to go to the park. They're saying they're not allowed to go to the parks because the parks are closed.
  20. So some doctors or scientists made a mistake while they were trying to understand a brand new virus that no one has ever seen before. We're human; get over it.
  21. My grandparents' nursing home is in lockdown and, as far as I know, no one there has died of COVID-19. There must be some other factor at play in NY and MN.
  22. It's not a narrative; it's the scientific method. When you're trying to figure out something brand new that no one's ever seen before, you formulate a hypothesis based on whatever info is available. If you get new data that contradicts that hypothesis, junk it and propose a new one based on the new evidence.
