Odd, my local dealership has 3 2.7 models and 188 5.3 models.

Out of curiosity do folks think you can get a better deal on a 2.7 powered truck vs the 5.3, there is almost 2/1 ratio of 5.3 trucks vs the 2.7 so I am thinking they may be more inclined to try to move all of the 5.3 versions.

Interested to hear your thoughts on the two, I’m looking to get a 5.3 or the 2.7 depending on the deals.

You can get it with leather but in the RST model.

Did you paint the front bumper red? Any head on pics?

So have we seen any leaking issues with models built after say 10/2018? I am very hesitant to purchase a '19 model if I have to deal with this headache.

Yes, someone here had those issues and it ended up being the wiring harness was too short and rubbed thorough. He was fighting to have a new harness installed vs extending the existing one.

Unacceptable, period.

I am torn between the RST and LTZ, I know I won't spend over $40k so I know the LTZ is a reach at that price but can be had. Really want that Havana Brown. I assume once the 2020 models start hitting lots they will want to move the '19s.

What is fair to negotiate off the MSRP at this point with the 2020 models just weeks away. is asking for 25% off MSRP asking to much?

The thought of all that sand getting into small areas makes me nervous.

I am still debating on the 5.3 vs the 2.7 and I was intersted in seeing if anyone has done an aftermarket setup on the 2.7 and if it made any power gains as a result?

I’m looking to move up from my ‘08 hhr ss so I know what these turbo engines can do.

Anyone have any updates on their impressions of the I4? I’m wondering if it may be a good option over the 5.3/8 speed combo.

Yea that has been what I was finding, I am thinking I may need to hold off another year until the lower level 2020 trim models with the 6.2 have been on lots a bit, just hate to drop $40+k and regret it a year or so later.

Is it realistic to think I can get a '19 model w/ the 6.2 for $40k? I dont care what trim at this point I just want the 6.2 w/ Z71 package.

Truly a sad and upsetting experience I am sure! I hope you get everything sorted out and come out ahead somehow!

I am intrigued with this engine, I currently drive a HHR SS with the turbo 2.0 and it's tuned and is rather stout. I just worry about all the tech, one issue and your are stuck with an expensive fix no matter what. When I look to get my truck later this year I will make sure to give one a test drive for sure.

Jeez, I am reconsidering picking up one of these new models if they are going to be having these issues right off the bat. Not what should be happening when you spend $40k+ on a vehicle, plain and simple.
