  1. I have taken the camper up the NC mtn's twice, was able to go the speed limit no prob. Trans temp peaking around 200. Better than my old 3/4 ton suburban, it would struggle to keep the speed limit and trans would climb to 250.
  2. thx for the info, I did buy the control knob. Came with 1 and 6 down, rest up. Sound ok, put all but 6 up and hit pretty hard. The control is the key i think being able to turn it down.
  3. Installed mine last weekend. Pretty easy overall, took couple hours. Till trying to figure out the switches on the amp. Its very loud in the car. From outside not so much.
  4. Sounds like GM is working on a resolution to the issue. Replacing new parts with the same new parts isn't going to fix the noise and only cost lots of dollars. They are working on it and it's just an annoying noise, no safety concern, no drivability concern. Have some patiance. Could be design issue, maybe a manufacturing issue. The fact that they released a PIC means they are working in it. It will be resolved
  5. I've never had a vehicle bought back. I have been a dealership tech for years and dealt with unhappy customers alot. And tbo we want the cars bought back...so the unhappy people go away. Lol That said manufacturers fight tooth and nail against it. Most the time the dealers trade them into a new vehicle...at a loss no doubt.
  6. Me too, my lease was ending I had do something. I'm gonna start saving for super charge, by the time I have enough they should be available...
  7. Thx got it. I dont yhe listed rpo axle codes so I guess I am good.
  8. Where can we find the rpo codes? Used to be in the glove box?
  9. I just went out checked mine, the factory windows measured at 22% Our meter skews off a couple percent so figure 25%
  10. The truck does stop great compared to my 16, which wasn't bad at all either
  11. You would still be stuck with the little rear brakes
  12. Just read thru this whole thread, sounds like a handful of owners, in the grand scheme of things, have had oil cooler line failures. I would figure a bad batch of lines from the vendor. To the gentleman who had the rebuild over a new motor, would be a perfectly fine repair if you removed human error. Good technician...good repair, hack tech...Cobb job?
  13. Thx buddy, 36' I believe, I'm sure the 6.2 will have plenty of power to tow, the soft suspension is where you'll notice the difference. I had a 2016 1500 prior and the 19 sits higher with softer ride, so far has towed well but I had to re set my hitch up and haven't towed since. Before that we had an older 2500 suburban and towed great other than it had no power under the hood (6.0L), different camper, 30" 7000lbs.
  14. I've never weighed it, loaded I'm figuring 8500lbs, truck loaded roughly 6000lbs, so pretty maxing out the tow capacity of the 5.3 standard 1500. I didn't want to drive a 2500 every day since we only tow few times a year. May down the road look into changing the gears to 373's or something.
