  1. Had a follow up call today. Sounds like they put in for a replacement window with a certain part number, that then changed to a new part number, and finally it’s on a third part number as ‘replacement part’ for my truck. However, there is no price listed or date listed on availability and basically at a stall point. So I wonder if something has changed somewhere on the engineering side or the supply side and just waiting for a redesign of the window? Not sure. My service guy seemed very confused on the fact that a price wasn’t even available. Said that was highly unusual.
  2. Both something isn’t adding up. I just got off the phone with a senior person at GM that told me all back windows are not just back ordered - they actually have some sort of hold on them from shipping. From TAC I believe is what was said. Waiting on mine since Nov 29 or something. At this point I don’t even know.
  3. Sounds like at least they are actively trying to make it right, which is good. but you have a freaking trail boss - a 3 to 4 degree driveway really shouldn’t be a problem...or else you are exactly right , that GM has a huge problem on their hands. I can’t remember if anyone’s replacement window has leaked again. I can’t think of anyone off the top of my head though.
  4. Really disheartening but now you should have a great case for GM to ‘make it right’ and get you in something that’s not broken. Hope that it’s easy process for you and not something drawn out with lawyers and things
  5. I’m wondering if the sports bar gives extra rigidity so it doesn’t flex the window as much?
  6. Seems like they should have had a surrounding rubber gasket without the ‘lip’ allowing water to collect - similar to how my loaner Tacoma looks. Water doesn’t pool and it just rolls off the window without issue.
  7. Will be interesting to hear if / when a class action gets started. I doubt it would help those who have already had to go through the leak process. Keep us updated as I am currently going through a similar process as Shamrock
  8. Seriously the best advice I’ve seen on this thread. Go to the regional service rep / sales manager ASAP if you want anything done. Everyone else will do their best to stall and give you the run around.
  9. I don’t understand how you can get a window in one day and I’ve been waiting in my window since November 30? got some good GM connections?
  10. My experience with customer service was a joke. I would say something and they would essentially just parrot back what I had just said. Didn’t offer to fix or do anything at all. I quickly gave up on that being a route of remedying the situation.
  11. I agree 100%. Would really like to see extended warranty coverage for everyone. I just couldn’t pull the trigger on a Tundra (I’m not wanting to buy a 2007 in 2019) and ford and Dodge weren’t appealing for various reasons. But my jump to GM hasn’t been smooth at all.
  12. I find that extremely hard to believe you have a new window. Maybe they sealed it.
  13. Ft Wayne build. kentucky leaked November 1 - still hadn’t had any freezes or temp changes. And it is garage kept at night
  14. When does this buy back conversation happen in the process? After the second leak? With senior GM or through a dealer or through a lawyer? Because I’m getting very close to pulling that trigger but don’t know where I need to start
  15. My goodness. I’m sorry that’s happening to you. That window seal job looks like I remember mine looking like. Sort of heaped up at the ends. I don’t have it in my possession to take a photo of it right now to confirm.
  16. I’m curious about the seal on the third brake light, and what the fix is, because I was told my third brake like was really-sealed’ when I took it in the first time. But it still leaked once it came back to me. Did your dealer indicate the fix? A new part? Or where the seal needs to be fixed?
  17. The exact wording I got was “this is a nationwide issue and the supplier is overwhelmed with requests” so I guess there are a lot of leakers out there
  18. Sounds all too familiar: leak 10/31. Dropped at dealer 11/1. Caulk job (TSB) + headliner replaced 11/25. Picked up 11/26. Leaked again 11/30. Back at dealership 12/5 and was promised ‘a specialist’ to look at it. Still no end in sight. ive talked with the 1-800 tier two specialist and it was a joke. No help in resolving anything. I personally wouldn’t plan on expecting much in the customer service department.
  19. How did everyone initiate the buyback process? Through the dealer or through GM customer service line? thinking about starting that process as well. 50+ days without my truck will do that...
  20. So 2020 2500 and a bunch of 2019 1500’s good luck with the storm @Wiggums
  21. 2020 model? I haven't seen that on this thread - how do you have that information?
  22. Never went through any auto car wash with my truck. Hand wash and wax only. Still leaked - twice. dealer also sealed those spoiler holes on the repair and it still leaked afterward. so, N=1
  23. Or if you’re like me, driving around in a base Tacoma that smells like smoke and realize how much nicer my loaded Sierra SLT is.....
  24. Funny, I noticed my spoiler looked a little off after the original seal, but I didn’t say anything as I figured I’m just really type A....and of course it leaked again 3 days later so I didn’t have to sit and look at it all day long worried about it. What a mess, sorry we are all in the mess together.
  25. I’m currently in a rental that is non-GM, so it happens. Edit: I don’t think it’s supposed to happen that way, but this is the second leak and I think they realized I was angry enough
