  1. Flowmaster are generally just noise boxes made to increase the exhaust note and not much more. Magnaflow has a really nice "in-between" sound that my wife gets along with also. ? Whatever yall do, DO NOT get the MBRP cat back. It's horribly droney; sounds like a high-schooler hacked off his muffler "SO SICK BRO!" LOL. I might try and add this AFE muffler to replace the MBRP straight through.
  2. I have the same setup as you do and have had the truck in twice now for transmission acting up. When I put it in drive and step on the accelerator, sometimes it lurches pops out of gear, then slams back into gear. Shakes the whole truck and gets attention in the parking lots. GM is telling me they are working on a new valve body replacement. A VALVE BODY REPLACEMENT ON A BRAN NEW VEHICLE!! IMO this 8spd transmission is junk. Good thing I still have my 2005 Duramax with 400,000 that's NEVER broke down or given me griefs. EVER!
  3. But if you have the opportunity to get rid of your stock lift block; why not?! I can't wait to get rid of mine and add the U182 pack. Also, I've heard you can deal with Deaver to get whatever 'lift' you're looking for. Great company to deal with.
  4. Dried thread lock from one of your wheel studs.
  5. I love hearing all this Deaver talk! I'm still torn between the mini pack and a full 182 leaf pack.. My idea for this truck was keeping everything as 'factory geometry' as possible (i.e. mini pack that just replaces the overload leaf, stock width prerunner kit, OEM bolt on Kings) but wondering if I'll get much noticeable performance out of the mini pack as compared to the 13 leaf 182 pack. I definitely noticed the stock rear end not keeping up with the front end now. Speaking of front end; I just saw Baja Kits released the stock width kit I had installed. Check it out https://www.bajakits.com/c-1459192-truck-suspension-chevrolet-gmc-4wd-silverado-sierra-1500-19.html
  6. Very refreshing to hear someone have a sensible and positive outlook on a bad situation. I too just came down with the P25A2 code as well as U0146, U0100, U0101, P252A2 (pd), U0146 (pd) in my 19 Silvy with 22Kmi. I have had the transmission slip in and out of 1st and 2nd gear a few times (they re-flashed the module once already) with the last one (post re-flash) making a horrible gear grinding sound. Something I've NEVER heard from an auto transmission. ?? Is it bad that in the event of the Zombie Apocalypse I'd still choose my 2005 Duramax with almost 400,000 mi. thats NEVER given me a problem or let me down (besides one dead battery...ever!) ??
  7. The whoops look a lot bigger from the drivers seat ? I live about 3 miles from the Pismo Dunes onramp. I hate taking my truck out there but it's the only good local testing spot for me.
  8. Not as it sits now. I didn't feel the need for them after my 65mph run down the whoops with some pretty good G-outs and thats about as far as I'd ever wanna take my Daily Driver truck anyways. Bump stops require cutting and/or welding on the frame and that's not something on my DD (also brand new truck) list.
  9. I would imagine soon as my truck confirmed the kits were good to go to production over a month ago. They currently have the upper control arms in stock & ready to go that you could pair with whatever shock setup you'd like and add the lower control arm later.
  10. Soon! Definitely needs 35's and I'll be going back to an All Terrain type tread. I like the looks of these mud'ish terrains but that's about it. They fling rocks that chip paint and don't like the wet as much.
  11. They didn't really add any noticeable adverse effects to performance (get-up & go). These tires are less than an inch larger than what came stock so just a little heavier and wider.
  12. Wow!! Looks like I'm SOL... They really tied that thing into some really important other stuff. Dangit, I was hoping for something like my DFM "kill switch" module that was a plug in and play type thing. I'm definitely not going to mess with airbags, speed sensors or steering assist. Thanks for the complete info! Cheers!
  13. You are correct on the U182's but I've seen and talked to some guys running that pack on their 19's. I have tried to reach out to Deaver for verification but, no dice. I guess if the eye-to-eye and spring rate matches the weight there's not much more to worry about.
  14. Yes, welding in a shock hoop does seem like too much work for a lift kit. I wanted a prerunner kit but also wanted a nice daily driver. This Baja Kits stock width kit checked all the boxes for me. No use in going with King 3.0's for a DD build. The BDS kit is just a basic "lift kit" with Fox shocks bolted on. The Baja kits is an actual performance kit that gives you more wheel travel, better articulation and stiffer components. A lift kit doesn't give any more performance other than ground clearance and actually makes your suspension more prone to deflection and bending. At the price of the BDS kit you might as well get a prerunner kit that improves the performance of your truck. Just my two cents though. I'm sure your truck will be badass either way.
  15. While out on a dirt road enjoying my newly installed prerunner suspension I successfully turned off the Traction Control and ESC (electronic stability control). Went for a run down the woops and ESC turned itself back on and applied the brakes during one of my drifts. COMPLETELY unexpected and caused the truck to handle undesirably (to say the least). In talking to another Chevy guy he said the ESC turns itself back on at 35mph and above!... Is there anyway to 'tune' this out and make it stay off when desired? This is exactly why I held onto my 05 Duramax for so long. It had ZERO 'nanny hardware' that would f*#k with me while offroading.
  16. Weld in shock hoops are for long travel (non OEM bolt up) coilovers. To supply the amount of wheel travel the suspension components offer, you need a longer stroke shock than can fit in the OEM mounting locations. That is why they re position the upper shock mount with a hoop. Theoretically both type of shocks should have the same valving technology so they should work the same, just one offers less travel. So for me, a longer stroke shock (using a shock hoop) would allow my suspension to droop too far and damage the suspension components. This OEM bolt up King has a droop limiting feature built in already so I don't need to use limit straps. Hope this makes sense for you.
  17. A local truck accessory shop. They are a super common part you can find on Amazon, Ebay or your local wheel & tire shop should carry some.
  18. Yes there are with your typical long travel kit. I purposefully didn't want to extend anything and keep the stock geometry, steering, driveshafts, etc.
  19. I haven't cycled it and neither did Baja Kits get back to me about that question. I figure it'll be posted on their website whenever they release the kit.
  20. Yes you are correct on the 'lift kit' thing. Geometrically speaking, a lift kit actually makes your truck more susceptible to damage/breaking. I thought about going with the 3.0 Kings with internal bypass but I'm really not going to romp this truck hard enough to need that. They are super Gucci though! ? The standard short bed was tough to track down and I appreciate a longer wheelbase for offroading (more stable at high speeds). Next in order is to finish the rear end with the Deaver U182 leaf pack and Camburg extended shackles. The leaf pack says 3" of lift but in order to keep my ride height I'll utilize extended shackles to compensate for the lift all while improving the suspension feel. After that; she'll be ready to bounce so 35's and fiberglass fenders all around! First Woops.mov
  21. I know, I know. LOL, Realized this after I posted. ? Photo shoot scheduled today at the beach (I live next to Oceano Dunes OHV Park). Will get some full truck pics as well as action shots.
  22. Not a long bed, just a real sized short bed unlike the "stubby" short beds that are the fad lately. I had to wait and search for this combo (crew cab with a standard 6 foot bed) as the salesman said that less than 4% of trucks come with this combo. Still haven't seen another one on the road.
  23. Lowers are going to run around $2000. I already had purchased the uppers on Black Friday. Yes to prerunner bumpers. I will try and keep these as clean and daily-driver oriented as possible. I might not be able to get rid on my rear bumper as I'm completely sold on the steps on the ends and would hate to give them up.
  24. **ENTER BAJA KITS STOCK WIDTH FULLY FABRICATED UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARMS** I have been waiting for this suspension kit to come out since I bought my truck. It's compromised of the upper and lower suspension control arms and is stock width. This is unique as most 'prerunner' suspension kits are extended in length to provide more wheel travel and a wider stance. I didn't want to go with a wider kit as you must use extended steering tie rods and front driveshafts, fenders, etc. and all this starts making the truck less enjoyable as a daily-driver . By going with this stock width kit I am able to keep my steering and driveshafts OEM, doesn't require fiberglass fenders, and keeps the stock geometry of the suspension. Kit is adjustable from 0-3" of lift, although I feel like it brought up the front more than my 3" leveling kit from Moto Fab Lift did. For shocks, I chose with King 2.5" coilovers with the compression adjuster knobs all around as Kings have been the leader in the business since I can remember. These are the OEM bolt up type that replace your front struts and do not require any fabrication for shock hoops. Once I picked up the truck from Baja Kits I immediately drove it to an alignment shop before my 4hr drive home. About 20 minutes later they called me and said no alignment was necessary..... it was spot on! Incredible; between fabrication and installation they were able to keep it all aligned with zero correction after install. Overall the ride is MUCH improved! Obviously stiffer shock valving than stock but not jarring at all. I feel like it's a good in between feeling of my 2005 Duramax 2500 and the stock form 2019 Silverado 1500. So far I've only smashed a dip in the road but even just that was handled amazingly and beyond my expectations. I haven't had the opportunity to take it off-road for a proper feel but that will be coming soon. Currently the compression adjusters are backed off as far as they'll go so I have plenty of dampening room for off-road bouncing. Feel free to ask question or visit Baja Kits website https://www.bajakits.com/ or instagram @bajakits (they do not have my kit listed yet as this was their prototype kit) and tell JT that Cody sent you. They should be releasing the front end kit in the next week or two) and always offer just the King coilovers that you can bolt onto your stock setup.
  25. There sure is! Especially now with the suspension kit and King coilover shocks.
