I wish I could help you, but I haven’t. I was considering these for a while as well, along with the Eibach pro truck kit, but I ruled out the Bilsteins because 1) no new springs and 2) no more than 1.85” of lift and that’s on the top setting. Some say it gets stiff all the way up, but some say it’s fine. So who knows, but either way, I wanted at minimum 2”. Ruled out the Eibach kit because 1) their spring are even heavier than the Halo springs from what I’ve read , and 2) all of the work involved as stated above. I will say that the Halo springs are made by Eibach though, so I’m guessing they worked a deal to have softer springs made for them? Not 100% on that one. IIRC someone said the Eibach pro truck kit springs were in the 800lb range. Too much I thought. It might be possible to buy that exact spring that Halolifts uses directly from Eibach, but I didn’t research that.

I hear what you’re saying. Trouble is, most level kits just give you spacers, and keep all the other factory components, except shocks. What I did know was that the Boss springs gave me a 700lb. spring rate which is a bit heavier than factory and that was a must have for me. Factory springs were way too soft I thought. So I wanted to improve my ride and not go too high as you stated with the lift, and I won’t go any larger with the tires than what I have already. Plus, they are adjustable while on the truck as opposed to having to remove them, compress the springs, disassemble, adjust, reassemble, reinstall. A lot of work if you wanted a small change. Bottom line is, I agree with you. IF you like the factory ride and aren’t afraid of just spacers to achieve lift, then go with a leveling kit. If you’re like I was and wanted an improved ride (less bounce, more planted), and a wanted to level your truck out some, then I think these are hard to beat. They are a bit pricier than some of the kits out there, but their overall ride quality and ease of adjustment was worth it for me. They also use a longer, heavier spring to lift which I liked better than spacers alone.

May be too late to the party here, but I just installed the Halo coilovers and rear shocks on my truck. I’ll give you my thoughts if you haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I absolutely love it. Rides so much better. No more bouncing or skipping. I set mine at 2”, with one spacer on the bottom for a total of 2.5” lift in the front. Also replaced the factory UCAs with Cognitos. I’m running 275/70/18s with no rub anywhere, so I can’t attest to what it will do with 17s, but I’d bet you’ll be fine. The install was as easy as you can get. Simple remove and replace. Their product is awesome you will not be disappointed. Also, the customer support and service with these guys cannot be beat. Best I’ve ever worked with. I have since put in a MotoFab 1” rear block and I personally like the stance. Don’t have a pic with the rear blocks installed though. 2019 Limited. Before/After:

Thanks for the info! Been really looking hard into that Eibach kit. Between that one and the Halo Boss Kit for me right now. Sure do like the price point on the Eibachs as compared to the Halos though. Just wondering if the Eibach kit would be too hard of a ride. I do a lot of highway miles and off road/farm riding as well. Trying to find the right balance.

Sharp truck! Curious if you put any lift blocks or add a leafs in the rear? From the pic, it looks like a slight rake, which I like.

Hate to hear that. Unfortunately, it’s what I’ve heard a lot of. Did you get the rub before or after the new tires? I’m told anything over 11.5” wide will rub with the factory wheels. Wondering if I stayed at 11” if they’d still do it. If you did get the rub before new tires, what did you have on it previously? On a side note for anyone interested, I talked to JBA Offroad today inquiring about their arms. For now, they make nothing compatible with the stamped steel or aluminum UCAs, only the cast steel, but they are in the works. However, he couldn’t tell me an expected release date. If you look at the design of their arms, they are built with a slight bend in them he said that corrects this issue everyone’s having with rubbing. Too bad they aren’t available yet?. At any rate, doesn’t do us much good for now, but hopefully they’ll get them out sooner than later.

I think it would be wise to go ahead and get new UCAs. The kit will give you 2.5” on the lowest setting, and that’s right at the maximum recommended limit before they say you have to. Might as well do it while you’re in there. Just my feeling on it. I’m sure you could get away with not replacing them, but I’d be willing to bet you’ll severely limit the life of your joints if you don’t. I’m planning on this kit myself and new arms, too. Love to hear any and all feedback from those who’ve run this kit for a while. So far seems like most are very pleased.

Good to know. Was somewhat leery of the Cognitos as I’ve read some mixed reviews on the quality of their ball joints, and most report issues of rubbing with wider tires, but I won’t be going too wide myself. I do think the arms themselves are built really well though. I much prefer the price point of those Freedom UCAs, but still gotta make sure they’re legit before I pull the trigger on any. Only want to do this once, and I want it done right. Would love to hear an update on how you’re liking the Eibach/Freedom setup after you’ve put a few miles on it. Thanks for the info!

I like the look. Curious what made you go with the freedom UCAs? I’m not seeing much intel on them, and I was just wondering. I had been planning on doing the Eibach kit with Cognito UCAs. You have any idea how they’d compare to the Cognitos? Also, any rubbing on them after the install? Thanks!

As far as I know, the Limited is essentially the same as the 2018s. Every part number I’ve compared on my Limited matches the part numbers on the 2018. I think all the Limiteds were all configured with the stamped steel UCAs. Mine did I know for sure. You are correct, very little info out there on these. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.
