  1. That doesn't sound right. Can you post a few pics so we can see the port you are describing? And maybe how much water is coming out?
  2. Well I am sold on the brown interior. Will be ordering it for sure so thanks for the feedback :)! Regarding the seats I drove a '21 GMC 2500HD a few days ago and could tell the difference between its seats and the seats in my '15 Chevy 2500HD so I can relate to what others are saying. Since it was a short test drive I did not take a lot of time to adjust the drivers seat to suit me perfectly. I won't say that I disliked the new seats they were just different from those in my '15. Less bolstering and not as cushy. A little flatter and firmer. Maybe it was done to improve the long term integrity of the padding. Chevy/GMC drivers seat left lower bolsters are known to get flattened out quite easily from people sliding their butts in and out of the truck. It is likely it was also a cost save. Time will tell. I have read where people with the '20 and '21 trucks that spent a lot of time adjusting the seats to find their optimum settings do find a sweet spot but its a process and you have to commit to slight tweaks over a period of time to find it.
  3. Folks, I appreciate your feedback. I am going with an SLE so I'll have cloth seats but I will address that with seat covers if needed. I needed a push to get away from black. Like was mentioned above it is tough to see the color combo in person so you are left with pics and videos on the internet. I'll see if anyone comes in with any second thoughts or regrets but so far it's 100% yes for dark walnut slate!
  4. Guys I am about ready to order a new 22 HD truck and am pushing myself to get dark walnut slate but I need help to avoid the route I always seem to go....black! If you have dark walnut slate please give me your honest input. Love it and glad you got it or you regret it. I will tell you right now I would get it for the brown dash and doors which I think looks nice but not for the super light gray cloth seats. I will put seat covers on them immediately to make sure myself or my kids don't ruin them. I am Ok buying a new truck and investing in seat covers. I know some people aren't and that's OK but its fine for me. I just need to know if you went with brown and what your thoughts are after living with it for awhile.
  5. I will definitely make sure the dealer understands the code I am using and that we are aligned on the pricing. Thanks for that suggestion. Congrats on getting yours ordered last Friday! You likely beat me by about one week! We may end up neck and neck for build timing! I did not know to ask about allocations or constraints so I will definitely do that when the time comes.
  6. Copy that. Considering today's environment and based on your input I think I'll disclose the GMS code at time of order and get what I can from that and let it ride. I don't want to get too aggressive and have it delay my order for a 22 going in. Last week my sales guy said he could submit an order but couldn't see 22 pricing yet. This week I plan to supply my GMS code and place my order. I know GM Flint where the HDs are built are working 6 and 7 days per week and not taking extended time off for July 4th like many of the other GM plants. I also understand the change over to the 22s is occurring on July 12. I hope if I get an order in now and as long as it isn't too unique it will get build within the first month or two.
  7. Nards, thanks a bunch for the insight and feedback! I recently found that I do have someone that can give me access to employee pricing. And, they are living LOL! Question about the process, I imagine that I let the dealer know before I order that I want to use employee pricing and I need to provide the "code" or whatever the number is that ties to the GM retiree that I know, correct? Anything else I need to know going into it?
  8. Hey Spangled and MacLaren: First, your trucks sound awesome! Are you still happy after having the extra exhaust sound after a little while? I am getting ready to order a GMC 3500 and found this in the accessories section of the build and price. Is the the same system that both of you guys installed? I read something in this thread about a quieter Borla system and want to make sure I don't end up with that! Thanks for the input.
  9. Well, my grandma by marriage that passed away a few years ago was a GM employee. Do you think I could get that to stick?!
  10. For the folks that are ordering trucks....how/when do you negotiate price? I have never ordered a vehicle before. Today my sales guy confirmed that he can send in an order now for a 22 but the system is not showing pricing yet. I imagine pricing will be close to what we have for the 21s so I am fine with that but do you negotiate before you even order or do you want until the truck comes in?
  11. Sounds like you're well on your way to a new truck! Also sounds like you have a solid salesman. Finding one that initiates communication and follows up when they have new information is rare. Not sure where they are in Michigan but I live near Ann Arbor so if they aren't too far away I would be happy to stop in for you if ever needed.
  12. I noticed du-ha doesn't have a lid like the OEM set up. For the guys that went the du-ha route did you ever wish you had a lid?
  13. JD, did your guy allow you to order the 22 today or did he say when he can actually place the order in the GM system? I have been waiting to hear from mine that we can actually load it into the system and wait for confirmation that it was accepted but that call hasn't yet come yet for me. Sorry to hear about your 21 but maybe you'll be happier in the end.
  14. Congrats, Merc! Out of curiosity what did you get? Did you find it on the manufacturer website or on something like Autotrader? Your hard work paid off for sure. As for the 22s this article confirms the dates that jd64 shared above....https://carbuzz.com/news/we-finally-know-when-the-2022-chevy-silverado-will-arrive which shows production starts 7/12.
  15. Same boat here. Looking on GMC.com inventory and Autotrader for a 21 because I don't want to wait for a 22 though I am curious to see if there will be any surprises for 22. I did see a truck just show up on GMC inventory this afternoon that I know wasn't there this morning so I want to think it's daily. Does anyone know when build and price will be updated for the 22s? I do have a local dealer set to call me as soon as I can place an order. That's just in case I can't find a 21 though I'm going to try like hell.
  16. Or maybe do you have the snowplow prep package with stiffer front springs or the off road package with the stiffer Rancho shocks? You know your trucks better than anyone else but unless I am wrong the 5th wheel package has the component between the frame and the bed and nothing that should affect ride. Again, not trying to act like I know more about your trucks than you...that's just my understanding.
  17. Thought I'd throw up a few very recent photos that show the truck stock with the aluminum wheels and after I installed the 18" steel work truck wheels that I painted black. I installed factory center caps and new General Grabber ATx tires in the stock size 265/70 R18 - E. Love the look and the tires so far. Can't wait to see how they do in the Michigan winter snow. The stock Michelins are great for summer pulling our travel trailer but wasn't even going to try them in the snow so instead of swapping tires on the aluminum wheels twice per year I went this route.
  18. To Waffle and those that helped me in the search for the steel wheels I thought I'd share some before and after pics. As a reminder I started with the standard grey work truck 18 inch wheels and painted them black. I am stoked with the outcome...exactly what I was looking for. It might not be everybody's cup of tea but it is what I was shooting for. This is just going to be my winter set up. I'll go back to the stock shiny aluminum wheels for the summer. Oh, for tires I chose General Grabber ATx in the same size 265/70-R18 E and I added new OE center caps. Now to the before and after....
  19. Thanks for the feedback. I'll be putting on a set this week.
  20. Waffle, I checked on that link and the wheels are sold.....TO ME :)!!! Picked them up in Indiana this afternoon! What an amazing deal that was. I owe you big time, my friend. I don't know where you live but if you are ever in lower Michigan let me know. I owe you a coffee, or beer, or steak dinner, or whatever....you name it. Saved me serious big bucks. Thanks again and have a good weekend!
  21. Ya never know! I've been known to drive for a good deal on wheels!!
  22. Hey Cupton are you still happy with the Grabbers? I know it's only been a few more weeks but I'm seriously considering them and I don't know anyone else besides you that has them! Thanks.
  23. Waffle, thanks for taking the time to share the post! They look clean and have caps which is a plus. I'll investigate. I also found a local set for $150 that doesn't include caps and will need to be sanded and painted that I'm looking at. The thing with wheels is it's like shipping boat anchors so unless they are local you have packaging and shipping costs to deal with. Either way thanks!
  24. Thanks for the reply, Cruse! FYI to All, I am still looking for 18" OE steel wheels that fit the '15 - '19 HD trucks. These would normally have come on WTs.
  25. I have a 2015 2500HD with the factory 18" chromed aluminum PYV wheels. I would like to buy the factory 18" steel PYT wheels so I can run them in the winter (Michigan). Thanks, Mike.
