  1. You can almost sleep on those side bars.
  2. OMG your local car wash is going to love you!
  3. Haha, you’re talking to 6.2TB. I just replied to him about how nice his truck is.
  4. Really nice. What are those step bars?
  5. I wouldn’t expect the dealer to take the truck back at their expense. They’re a dealer, not GM. Your battle is with GM. Good luck. With any car company you’ll need it. It’s not just GM. They are all awful to deal with. Be nice to your dealer. It’s your best bet.
  6. It’s sad that a company with hundreds of engineers makes a vehicle that leaks water inside. How many decades has mankind been able to make cars that don’t leak water inside? 8? 9? Cars have kept the elements out since World War I. Since humans didn’t have a basic understanding of bacteria. I’m dumber for having contemplated this.
  7. Intermittent highway vibration is usually from a couple tires slightly out of balance rotating enough to finally line up just right and combine forces. I always road force balance tires when I get to about 5,000 miles. Very rarely do they break in and stay balanced perfectly. Tires are great now in terms of comfort and mileage, but they can be a bitch to balance.
  8. Since you mentioned it, I wanted to let you know that salt wrecks the pH of the entire environment, mainly the water. It’s a stupid plague and a symbol of man’s idiocy that an alternative is not feverishly pursued. My hometown in western Kentucky uses something based on beets, of all things, and does not use salt. It’s a big problem though. Huge.
  9. I came out to my truck today and the driver seat has spots all over it. Apparently water came in and now the seat is stained for whatever reason. 1500 miles and I need my seat shampooed already. Frustrating.
  10. Nice. I’m really curious if this diesel will prove to be anything close to as reliable as the Cummins. I hope so because one will be in my future if it is. I love all straight six engines.
  11. My CTB lights are so crappy that I’d be very afraid of tinting them. Maybe with some LED upgrades.
  12. Mine has stopped with colder temps and less humidity. Where do you live?
  13. I wish the GMC had the Chevy’s front fender and door lines. I think that styling effect is revolutionary
  14. That color really shows off the sexy body. I really wish my dealer had that color Trail Boss when I bought mine.
  15. Yeah I’m just wondering if the brake software is part of the ECM tune. Used to brake software went to its own module, similar to the tranny.
  16. I appreciate you guys taking the time to reply. I’ll stick with 93 gas and just let it warm up in the morning. I doubt the dealer will find anything. I wonder if the brake recall is a flash for the ECU or just some brake module.
  17. I used 93 shell and then dropped back to Kroger 87 because I had $.50 off. I’ve had a lot of cars and none would ever respond in any way to that other than my Type R. Is the 5.3 fairly sensitive? I’ve never owned or driven one.
  18. I’m reading about 5.3L octane, RVP, octane tables, etc. I’m wondering if anyone has enough experience, or read enough around here, to comment on whether me putting last tank of 93 octane in and going back to 87 could cause an issue. I wonder how long the octane tables take to reset. Also curious if this kind of minor hesitation is common with newer 5.3 and especially on winter gas. I think I’ll pull the battery ground off tonight and see if resetting the ECU helps. Sounds desperate right? lol
  19. Nah, it’s mainly noticed taking off in 1st and 2nd gear under light load. I think it’s a bad temp sensor or something but I’d think it would throw a code.
  20. I made an appointment to drop it off next week and then come in the next morning to drive it with the advisor. I’m trying to stay optimistic but I’m honestly very disappointed in my first GM. I don’t really have time to deal with this right now and it makes a stressful time a lot worse. I hope they can fix it.
  21. It’s not cylinder deactivation. It’s either a tune problem, coil, MAF, etc. No codes though. I wish it would just throw a code so I could drop it off for a known repair.
  22. Oh I can feel that. It’s not AFM. This is in first and second gear pulling away from the driveway or my parking spot. Throttle on, but lightly. Only cold.
  23. I have a ‘19 Trail Boss with 5.3L AFM and it has developed a slight misfire under light throttle pulling away from my driveway when cold. Does it other times now when cold. I don’t notice any problems at other times. No dash lights. I put Heet and a fuel system cleaner hoping it was water or something. No effect. My first GM and only 1400 miles. It’s going to be a major hassle taking it back and forth to the dealer over and over. I’m hoping someone’s been through this to maybe better focus the service writer and techs. Thoughts?
  24. I’m having very faint misfires under light acceleration when the engine is cold. Have you gotten any resolution?
  25. I’ll bet $100 it’s the caliper pins needing more/different lube. They warm up and it goes away. Classic.
