  1. Thank you. I have the "outlet" already figured out. I'm still looking for suggestions on the 12v feed. I have a 7pin to 12v socket adapter (picture), which I use when stationary (very handy). But I'm looking for a permanent hookup to use when mobile. I guess my question is more about wire splicing. Adding keywords; wire pigtail, wire butt connectors. I hope to leave the factory wire harness completely intact if possible. Looking for suggestions.
  2. I want to install a 12v outlet in the truck bed. I don't feel like running a home run all the way from the battery. Does anyone know of a good way to tap into the 12v harness for the 7 pin trailer socket? It looks like good sized 10guage. Also, does anyone know how to remove the socket so I can take a closer look?
  3. I wish I had the warning light. 2019 Sierra. Has it for the doors, of course, but not the tailgate. It's a standard tailgate. Of course I often drive with the tailgate down intentionally, but I once drove with it down unintentionally.
  4. I'm a bit surprised that this specification is not known. Seems a bit ridiculous that it's not specified in the manual. Any random USB C part (even $4 cables) have a started max wattage. I use a 12v adapter to get 65w. I need 65w for laptops. It also works just fine for phones and tables. A 65w adapter now costs only about $12. Wish I didn't need the extra adapter in the clutter, but I do. Now I heard the 2022 and later trucks do not have a 12v outlet! So the ability to use a 12v adapter is gone and the USB c wattage is sh1t. What were they thinking m
  5. Has anyone actually found the specification for the max wattage on the USB c port? I can't find it. But I know it won't even do 65watts on the new-style 2019 Sierra. It's actually pretty pathetic. Good thing this truck still has 12v outlets and 12v USB c adapters are small and inexpensive.
  6. That's an incredibly ineffective and inefficient adaptor. It's just silly
  7. Nice try GM engineer. The is a seriously stupid design mistake.
  8. Those adapters will not work, they are not high enough power. And if they did, that's insane to convert the 12v DC to ac then back to 12v DC
  9. What is the best dash cam for security and liability protection? Easy for permanent install and possibly rear facing secondary camera. Talk amongst yourselves.
  10. How would we even know that?
  11. My record MPG is 41mpg for 50 mile average. BUT, that's coming down a mountain pass. At altitude on the highway, it's easy to get 26+mpg. Close to sea level, this turbo doesn't seem worth it to me.... but I'm rarely at sea level. But in my daily life, which includes "city" driving, I'm closer to averaging 21mpg. The stop and go, slow traffic really brings down the mpg quickly. I know it's really really expensive, but a hybrid for speeds less than 10mph would give great mpg for this truck.
  12. Same Problem 2019 (new style) GMC Sierra 1500. The alarm keeps going off, about once every 5-15min. Two days in a row now. Yesterday was a nice dry day. Today is wet snow. It seems like it might have started just after I washed it, but there was nothing strange about the car wash.
  13. Mine is getting worse too. Doesn't even take much moisture anymore.... just a light rain and the interior is wet. They discovered a foot of sealant was not applied? Is that new info? Source?
  14. Humans are not a problem. It's okay to be human.
  15. If we can terraform the planet by human action (assuming it's possible), we can buy ourselves perhaps another 500 million years of habitation. It's actually a very convenient truth, if true.
