  1. My suspension and UCA's are no longer stock but check out the UCA bolts and make sure they're tight. I noticed a popping noise occasionally when I would turn and 3 days later I got on in my truck and could barely turn the wheel to the right, it was like the electronic steering went out. I got out and looked quickly and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary so I went to work and just took right turns slow. Stopped for gas on the way home and noticed the driver side UCA was shoved way into the engine compartment because the bolt and bushings were completely gone.
  2. Thanks for all of the tow info. I'll have to get that hitch setup. I originally wanted to get the BDS 4" or 2.5" but after the differential is dropped I won't really have all that much more clearance on the undercarriage I feel lol. Any idea how far the diff. sits off the ground with the 2.5"? Also trying to avoid 20" wheels, I was looking at going 17" w/35s or keeping the stock with 35s for the time being.

  4. Is anyone here running the 1.5" - 3.5" Icon coilovers on a Trailboss or even a stock Silverado? I'm looking at getting the stage 3 kit to level out the TB but have seen many people say that Icon is extremely stiff on road and you feel every little pebble. I'm still opting for Icon since I tow a trailer and boat quite frequently and they are not a progressive shock like Fox and King which would require getting air bags installed as well for towing. If anyone has experience with the Icons your input would be greatly appreciated.

  6. Ahh, man that's unfortunate. I just looked into it a little bit and it does seem quite a bit harder and tend not to go in favor of the consumer. If they do it on a contingency basis and nothing comes out of your pocket it still may be worth a try.
  7. Contact a lemon law lawyer. 5 attempts is most likely a lemon in every state. Get rid of it ASAP. I had 3 brake failures on my 2019 and 3 repair attempts for the failures I experienced. The dealership experienced one on a repair they did (technically 4 repair attempts which is a lemon in TX) but, did not note the repair on my invoice. The dealership denied ever doing the repair when I asked them to put it on a repair order for me. When I sent them a voicemail they left me stating that the repair did not work as well as forward them an email that was sent from the service advisor that they changed the vacuum pump but I would NOT see it on my repair order the dealership offered to buy my truck back in full because they knew they were caught in a lie and I was going to lemon the truck. I work in construction and need my truck so to save time and hassle I took a 20 on an MSRP swap. So far no issues on the 20. If i have any issues before it's titled they will buy the new truck back in full.
  8. Nice truck, did you re-gear for the 35" tires? If not, is there a noticeable loss in power and gas mileage?
  9. Anyone still experiencing issues? My third brake failure was on 2/24/20 2 hours after picking the vehicle up from the dealership for the most recent fix. GM had stated that a recall was not reason to purchase the truck back. I agreed that a recall was not but the fact that I was on my third brake failure as well as the dealership experiencing one should definitely warrant a buy back if they were truly concerned about their customer safety as well as the safety of everyone else on the road. The dealership finally agreed to an MSRP swap or trade in value of what I purchased the vehicle for on a vehicle off one of their Ford or Ram lots since GM was of no assistance. For times sake, I agreed to a 2020 and I truly hope I don't regret it. I feel like I'm playing Russian roulette. They will take the vehicle back in full if I have a brake failure before it's titled so I'm going to drive the hell out of this thing for the next 2 weeks.
  10. Do you happen to have the paper work showing which update you have? If you see my post above, the newest fix does NOT work. I picked my truck up today at noon after the dealership received a new EBCM, programmed it with the most recent fix, and test drove it for two days. I had a brake failure within 2 hours.
  11. It is NOT fixed. Picked up my truck today only to have another brake failure! I will likely be filing a lemon law suit at this point.
  12. Finally, someone else with the same issue as me. I'm also one of the few who have never used the apps to auto start, nor did I have the recall performed in mid December that GM is alleging was part of the issue. GM is blowing smoke on what caused this brake failure 'cause they don't have a clue. My senior GM advisor has ignored me for a month since I have questioned them on the cause of the brake failure and have let them know that what they are stating caused it has absolutely no correlation with my truck and its brake failure. Sadly, it seems most people are accepting the $&*# GM is spewing regarding the brakes.
  13. You should take it into your dealer ASAP and have them scan for errors. My truck is still sitting at the dealership because I took it back to them after the PIT5728B for a scan just to be safe and surprise! Error codes on my brake module.
  14. If you have PIT 5728B PLEASE go back to your/a dealership and have them re-scan it in front of you for error codes after driving it for a few days. If you would like more extensive details on why, follow the link posted and read my entire comments on page 36. Summarized version is that the even with the PIT 5728B my truck still threw a brake malfunction code as well as two others after driving it for the week. Dealership cleared them only to be provided with 4 new error codes stating that there was an issue with the update during install and the dealership was unable to re-program the new brake module. They will be contacting GM on my behalf Monday on what to do with the truck because they are stumped at this point and GM has given me the run around and is now flat out ignoring my request for a vehicle buy back or swap. My truck does not have the newest recall issued on 1/30/20. It has been over a year that this issue has been going on with these trucks. This second link is to a thread that was started back in November of 2018.
  15. Thanks for the suggestion. I checked this morning since they had also performed the battery cable recall and the cables and wire harnesses were all tight.

I was told by two GM reps that this was not occurring in the 2020s at all only to come on here to find out PIT 5730 is the remedy for brake failure on the 2020 model. Leaning towards a buy back at this point and swapping brands.
  17. Sorry for the extensive posts and photos but, here is some background info that leads me to believe GM truly does not know how to fix this and issues I have experienced with PIT 5728B. I have never used the MyChevrolet app to auto start my truck. Most of you experiencing the brake failure have and that was the reason GM gave for the failure. I have used the FOB a handful of times. Another reason they gave was the brake re-calibration. I had my brakes re-calibrated to read properly back in September of 2019 at 3,079 Miles. My brake failure occurred 4 months later at 12,575 Miles. Seems unlikely that, that would be the cause of the brake failure. After I received the TSB PIT 5728B, I started to have a tapping feeling against my foot coming through the brake pedal when I would stop. The only other time this has happened to me was when my brake failure occurred on 1/10/20 and in my 2010 Silverado when the ABS needed to be serviced. My radio screen now cycles through dim, medium, and bright simultaneously at random while I drive (no, it's not because a difference in lighting outside is hitting the sensor causing the brightness to change). When I come to a slow, very gradual stop my brakes give like the ABS is kicking in. They then re-apply and cause me to come to a jerking stop, but hey at least I'm stopping. This all occurs within a second but, I fear at one point they will not re-apply. This next event has only happened to me once now but I am curious if it has happened to anyone else. I was stopped at a stop sign and all of the sudden I heard a low rumbling coming from the rear of my truck and the entire thing started to shake. I released my foot off the brake pedal and it stopped. It has not re-occurred.

I have been following this thread for a while now and figured I would chime in. I experienced brake failure in my 2019 LT Trail Boss on 1/10/20 at 12,575 miles in heavy traffic. I had luckily just slowed down to about 10-15 MPH when they failed and was able to make it over to the shoulder to coast to a stop. If I had the failure 20 seconds earlier I almost certainly would have been involved in a fatal car accident as the car ahead of me was at a dead stop. The dealership "fixed" the issue the following Monday but wanted to take it for a test drive the next day because people were still experiencing failures after the "fix" which was to replace the vacuum pump. They had a brake failure on the test drive. The next step was to wait for a new brake module and reprogram, which they did with PIT 5728B. I informed the dealer I was not comfortable driving the vehicle nor did I have any trust in this "fix". I asked what would happen when they fail again since they have now provided at least 6 different remedies for this serious issue. They pretty much just shrugged their shoulders and sent me on my way. If you have PIT 5728B PLEASE go back to your/a dealership and have them re-scan it for error codes after driving it for a few days. I went to a different dealership today because I have been having a variety of concerning issues with the brakes and the dealership I purchased the vehicle at was blowing this off as if it's not a serious issue. They scanned my vehicle and found a brake malfunction error code as well as two others. Unfortunately, I did not get a print out of those errors. They cleared the errors only to have 4 others appear which I will attach to this post. The dealer said I have the the absolute most recent fix but they were unable to reprogram the brake module and weren't sure what to do. My truck does not have the new GM recall #: N192268091 that was released on 1/30/20. They are stumped and will be contacting GM on my behalf and what to do with the truck. I already have a case open but, GM has ignored me after my initial conversation with a senior advisor requesting a buy back or swap. She sends me emails stating she tried to contact me yet I never have a voicemail or missed call from her while I have tried numerous times to contact her by phone and left voicemails that she please leave a voicemail if I do not answer so I know she truly attempted to contact me. I refuse to let GM push this brake failure under the rug. They are putting our lives in danger as well as everyone else on the roadway that does not even own a Silverado or Denali.
