  1. For 2024 I think GM is now having over the air updates with a sytem they call over the air technology (OTA). This could be what's draining the battery.
  2. Well my dealer kept their promise, since I got my truck back today with a GM remanufactured transmission (Serial # starts with 17CKA) and runs like new so far. I also received a Warranty Claim Code for it. I was told the codes that my old transmission showed were p0700 and p2723 when they initially started the diagnosis on it.
  3. Yeah I'm glad they are trying to make it right and from what I gather the lines are under quite high pressure so any small defect or improper installation will likely cause a failure, however if my dealer had any doubts about the spring clamp I wished they replaced it, being 'professional grade' and all.
  4. Thanks, it is a large GM dealer and they aren't building it themselves but getting it from somwhere. I'll have to find out from who and what parts they are using.
  5. I had the AC condenser in my 2015 Sierra 1500 with 87K miles replaced at my local GM dealer since it had a crack in it, and when I drove it the next day the transmission went out. Transmission cooler line blew out and covered the entire engine bay with tranny fluid. Dealer says it was likely the metal spring holding the line was fatigued when they put in back on after doing the AC fix. They fixed the cooler line, and they say the truck runs but there are solenoid codes for the transmission, and they want to give me a new transmission for free. I was told the housing will be used but the parts inside will be new. Does Anyone know what transmission brand they are likely to use and how reliable are they compared to the OEM transmission?
  6. Does anyone know if a 2015 Sierra has an idle air control valve? I know older models had them but don't know if they changed that set-up for later models.
  7. That's a great price, wish I could get that deal where I live. Have any issues arisen since the exchange? I've only put about 100 miles since I had mine done but so far so good.
  8. New to the forum. I have a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 4WD 5.3L Gas engine with the 6 speed auto. Just recently had the transmission fluid exchange (flush) done at my dealership, with ~ 51,000 miles on it. So far I noticed much smoother shifts and quiter all around. You can see the total cost was $252.50 (I live in CaliPOORnia and do not have the means to do a fluid change myself). When I asked what this entails he said it completely exchanges out the old transmission fluid replacing it with new fluid, including what is in the torque converter. He then said at ~100,000 miles they can do a fluid change, including the transmission filter. However, I noticed one of the line items in the details is '1 6600 ATF Kit'. When searching this nothing definitive comes up, but seems it could be a cleaning agent they use. Thoughts? Anyhow, as mentioned earlier so far so good using the flush. From what I gather doing the flush with relatively low miles, like on my truck, is okay, just don't want to do it with higher mileage, since can push dirt and debris that have accumalated over time into places where it shouldn't be. It's my opinion doing regular fluid changes will be beneficial in the long run, despite the manual saying can go to 150,000 for non-severe duty, which I think they say so people think they will save $$ by waiting that long, but seems that would be asking for trouble, and better to do more frequently.
