Lucas,
I like how you have set up the two modes separately. I recently rebuilt my 4l60e with a HD rebuild kit from ProBuilt Automatics, Corvette Servo, upgraded Edge TC, Sonnax pressure booster, Tru cool 40K, etc...and now I need to due some tuning. Line pressure has been increased mechanically with new pressure booster valves and transgo shift plate. TCC bypassed with PMW eliminator valve.
Problem is, everyone is tuning for street/drag whereas I am trying to tune for towing. I would like the normal mode to be more comfortable for driving around town, and the Tow mode for best towing reliability and longevity. Right now in normal mode I get a slamming engagement from the transmission between 3rd and 4th gear, both when accelerating and decelerating.
Do you think this is the HD TC locking and unlocking? What general recommendations would you use to tune the tranny for driveability around town and then better hauling in Tow mode? When should I have TC engage in each mode? Can I modulate the shift pressures differently in each mode?
I am new to tuning and still deciding between an all-in-one like diablo, or going with HP Tuners...What do you guys think?
Appreciate any advice or opinions on different tuners for transmissions!
