  1. Broken Wire! Added in a small length of wire and put everything back together. Replaced the torn boot and shifter spring while I was in there. Works great again.
  2. I wound up just using the garden hose with a brass twist nozzle on it and a small ball valve behind that. One of those with the little black lever for on and off. Opened the nozzle so it was at full stream, closed the ball valve, stuck it in the heater hose and slowly opened the ball valve back up. Nothing happened at first, so I closed and went to the other hose. Slowly opened up and the water started coming out the first hose. Brown at first and then clear. Kept opening valve slowly until good water flow. Hookes everything back up and heater works great!
  3. OK thanks guys! I was reading about a 3 way switch for TC where you can leave it to operate electronically, or you can manually switch it on and off. Might be a hardware solution to a software issue. For the tuning part, what I'm hearing is that when driving around town with no trailer, do not lock the TC until already in 4th gear. This will keep it a smoother ride for up/down shifts in traffic. When towing, hold low gears longer and have TC engage in 3rd to help reduce heat. Correct me if wrong, but the TC has to disengage to shift to 4th and then reengage? I think this is where I am feeling the harshness, and not so much the gear shifts. 1-2-3 are all nice and smooth.... Thanks for the recommendation on HP Tuners, I have been debating which one to get. I saw a used MPVI2+ with 6 credits. Has anyone used this model? It looks like this model is wireless? Can I run it from a tablet, or do I need a full laptop? Thanks again!
  4. Modesto, Having same issue on my 2001 Silverado. Were you able to back flush it? How'd that go? I am replacing water pump and figured I could try this before digging around under the dash...
  5. Having same issue with my 2001 1500 silverado. Thought it was just the bulb and figured tow mode was still working, but I switched over to a remanned 2500 gauge cluster to get the tranny temp gauge and it still does not light up. Guess I will check the wire in the column. Shifter is pretty loose between gears, so I might swap that out when I go in. Don't want the dog knocking in out of gear! Hopefully that gets my tow mode back as I just bought a 8K Travel Trailer....
  6. Lucas, I like how you have set up the two modes separately. I recently rebuilt my 4l60e with a HD rebuild kit from ProBuilt Automatics, Corvette Servo, upgraded Edge TC, Sonnax pressure booster, Tru cool 40K, etc...and now I need to due some tuning. Line pressure has been increased mechanically with new pressure booster valves and transgo shift plate. TCC bypassed with PMW eliminator valve. Problem is, everyone is tuning for street/drag whereas I am trying to tune for towing. I would like the normal mode to be more comfortable for driving around town, and the Tow mode for best towing reliability and longevity. Right now in normal mode I get a slamming engagement from the transmission between 3rd and 4th gear, both when accelerating and decelerating. Do you think this is the HD TC locking and unlocking? What general recommendations would you use to tune the tranny for driveability around town and then better hauling in Tow mode? When should I have TC engage in each mode? Can I modulate the shift pressures differently in each mode? I am new to tuning and still deciding between an all-in-one like diablo, or going with HP Tuners...What do you guys think? Appreciate any advice or opinions on different tuners for transmissions!
  7. AlljackedupZ71, Nice pics and write up. How has it held up? I am considering this for my 2001 Silverado along with upgrading the rears to the Suburban 2 caliper pistons and rotors. Have you noticed any extra pedal travel or softness? I am concerned adding all the extra calipers will make my master cylinder ineffective. I also plan to change to Stainless brake lines which should help save some fluid pressure. Has anybody done this to a 2001 Z71? How were clearances? I have 18" rims from 2019 Sierra AT4. Thanks!
  8. Texas, So this is what he is selling off his Sierra. Ranchero shocks, springs, sway bar, etc... He is asking $500 for all of it but would probably deal some. Suburban has 40K miles on it. Good Deal? Or not worth it?
  9. Anybody know if I can put the new AT4 stock 2" lift on a 2017 Suburban? I recently purchased the AT4 rims and tires from a guy that lifted his AT4 and upgraded the wheels. The AT4 rims look sweet on my 2001 Silverado Z71, and he also had the stock suspension for sale. Pretty sure it won't fit my SIlverado but the wife has a 2017 Suburban LT with 4 wheel drive (high only, no low). Would that be a simple swap out? any reason not to? Thanks
