If you have a 2016 .... there is a recall. Check NHTSA - even if you have gone beyond the 36k Limited Warranty, they were suppsed to "take the steps necessary to be sure the service update correction has been made before..... releasing the vehicle [no matter what service the vehicle was at the dealership for]" during the Limted Warranty.
For example, my 2016 GMC Yukon SLT (with "Performance Package Enhanced Towing" RPO = NHT) did not register during my service visits to the dealership(s) while under "New Vehicle Limited Warranty" because the RPO for recalled vehicles did not include the RPO for "Performance Package Enhanced Towing" (or, RPO = NHT); however, my vehicle (see your glove box for RPOs) has an RPO under the recall (i.e. NQH).
Service Update: "28770 4WD IPS Drift DTC C0398 - 4HI Lock-Up"
Reference Number: N152028770
I do NOT know if this recall was issued for other years. But, info needs to be more readily diseminated - and may, given the potential for issues with the 4WD Lock-up or stuck in 4 wheel drive issue in muliple years, need to be disseminated to owners from various years in order to initiate appropriate service or recall efforts.
