Hello there!
2021 3500 DRW Chevy gasser, cab & chassis 60" CA, crew cab, 4x4 W/T here.
As per Chevy website, an 8ft DRW 4x4 crew cab gasser has payload of 6610 lbs and GVWR of 14,400 lbs (see attached photo, the gasser is in the middle)
My understanding is that the CC trucks weigh the same as the long bed DRWs minus the long bed on the "complete" trucks (all other things equal). Is this correct?
So, in order to calculate the payload on my "incomplete" CC truck, I would start with 6610lbs (as per Chevy website for complete equivalent), subtract the weight of the "complete" bed and add the weight of whatever flatbed I install, correct?
So, in practical terms, assuming an 8ft bed weighs 500 lbs, I would do 6610-500+1230 (my Hillsboro GII steel bed) and arrive at payload for my truck of: 5880lbs.
Is the above calculation correct?
Thanks!
