Sorry for the late response on this. The seller must have been pissing quite a few people off, because his account now says "No longer a registered user" or something to that effect.
The RST/LT/LTZ headlights are not the same as the ones that I have, which are the High Country lights. The High Country lights use a ballast/LED control module. The output on the HC lights is pretty good and they are brighter than the RST/LT/LTZ. The only caveat that I see with them is the beam pattern is not wide enough. That will be the same for all of the OEM LEDs though. I can't say for sure how good the non HC headlights are, but people in this forum have expressed that they wish they were brighter. I don't have that problem with the HC lights.

These appear to only work with vehicles that have DRLs that double as turn signals. Once I ordered a set of Silverado LED modules direct from the dealer and installed them, all is working properly.

If you swap to the OEM LED housings from the halogen ones, you will need to swap the grille to an LT\LT Trailboss\ RST\etc. grille. you will also need to buy a harness for the headlights to work. Gen5DIY sells one.
I have not had this resolved yet. I have an appointment with the dealer for an issue with the front collision detection camera next week. I am hoping they will be able to resolve for me... even if I have to pay for a BCM reprogram.
I bought my headlights on eBay. The BCM in the trail boss is not programmed for those lights, so they will not work without the harness. The relay on the harness redirects the necessary power to get them working. I tried without the harness and it doesn't work. The others that are plug and play likely work within the same power spec as the factory halogens, so the BCM doesn't know the difference.
2019-2022 1500 Silverado LED Headlights – Gen5DIY for the headlight kit and harness. The grille, you will have to get on your own. FYI - I did this mod on my 2022 CTB (did not purchase the lights from Gen5DIY, but did get the harness from them) and am not able to get my DRLs to function properly. You can see the issue in the thread below. All other lights work perfectly, but DRLs do not stay on for me.
Has anyone been successful in getting the dealer to reset the BCM upon request?
Hello All, I'm sure everyone that converted had a straightforward and issue-less conversion... but hopefully someone has some insight: Have any of you seen an issue with the DRLs blinking 3 or 4 times and then shutting off completely? If not would you have an idea of what could be causing the issue? All other lights work perfectly, its just the DRLs that are disagreeing with this mod. I posted this in the Troubleshooting forum, but hoping someone here may have some ideas. This is on a 2022 Custom Trailboss LTD (same as 2021) I have a video of what I am seeing below. Thanks. I agree, I would think the halogens or even the aftermarket LEDs would be much more of a draw. The harness has a relay built into it, as well as resistors. There is a thread in this forum that talks about the conversion and all the successes.
Hello All, Hopefully someone can help me here. I have a 2022 Silverado Trailboss Custom LTD (same as 2021) that I have upgraded the Headlamp assembly and Grille to the High Country Headlights and LT Trailboss Grill. I have purchased and installed the Gen5DIY Harness to control the lamps and the Hi/Lo headlights work properly, as do the turn signals and parking lamps, but the DRLs blink 3 times in sequence (Full LED area first, then mid and lower section and finally just the lower section) before shutting off completely. This happens every time I from Park to Drive, Park to Reverse, etc. Initially, I had thought the issue was with the harnesses, so I had swapped the harnesses (Gen5DIY was gracious enough to send out two new harnesses to swap with) but that did not correct the issue, I had also purchased (2) new sets of control modules and neither set corrected the issue. I finally left the car battery unplugged for 2+ hours in hopes of clearing the ECM/BCM (long shot) but that didnt work either. Currently at a loss as to why this is not working when there are plenty of others that have performed this mod with no issues. Prior to swapping out the headlight assemblies, I did have LED bulbs in the original halogen headlight housings. the bulbs were S-V.4 LEDs and then the GTR Ultra bulbs. Wondering if that could have done something to the BCM maybe? Hoping someone has some insight as to what the issue could be. Thanks!
