  1. My 15 didnt vibrate initially but started about 15k kms....so the test drive might not indicate anything. I too got rid of it,but it also went thru multiple lifters n pushrods, and had a balky tranny. Chev didnt give a shit bout any of it.
  2. Me either
  3. Smooth as glass....the ride and the tranny. Hope the GM 10 speed is as good
  4. Yup....got sick of the shitty 8 speed, highway vibes, and multiple lifter n pushrod failures....dumped the POS and went back to Ford. When a dealership shop admits the tranny wasn't right but Chev wouldn't touch it was the final straw.... GM can kiss my ass
  5. I tried thatWith zero good results
  6. I'm in same boat as most.....vibes....but I am having a hard time taking the loss and being done with this truck. Most people who see video or are in truck on highway say the vibe would drive them crazy....good thing I was already there This was after all supposed to be a long term vehicle. My tranny is still jeckyl and hyde....mostly jeckyl,Chev says it's normal ffs Lifters gone, tranny, highway vibes I believe it's a matter of time before I snap....not saying the next brand truck will be any better....but I doubt it could be any worse
  7. I thought I was crazy.... Couple weeks ago my truck tranny was doing all the bad things I got pissed and decided to go to manual and shift the damn thing....and drive the shit out of it☺ For lack of a better term was "aggressively" shifting up and down in manual....I literally didn't care if something broke. I sort of got sick of doing this after several days tho. But crazy enough now the tranny is not doing the bad things...or hardly is I continue to go to manual and do some aggressive shifting occasionally but I now don't feel like getting rid of the truck... I don't understand it ....but I don't understand a lot of things
  8. One of main reasons my I'm not getting truck looked at now is its summer.....I need it to pull trailer, haul bikes.....truck stuff. I refuse to have it sit at dealer for a week or two at this time. And getting a loaner truck is never a guarantee. So I wait till December....no hunting then either
  9. 2 different sets of rims....3 different sets of tires.... The aftermarket 18s are a bit bigger than stock and raised vibe speed slightly. Besides that the vibe is still there....
  10. No tune....I don't believe the tranny or rear end are going to last and want absolutely no issues with warranty if this does occur. I trust GM about as far as I can throw a fat salesman! http://www.rangetechnology.com/ I went with this.... Bit pricy but considering I contemplated getting rid of truck and taking a beating it's cheap. I notice no change in mpg from disabling AFM....just a happier driver.
  11. The best thing I have done for this truck was disable the AFM. Around town it makes an incredible difference. A lot less confusion on trannys part when AFM is disabled. I still have vibration at highway speed and clunking badly on decel but I am not thinking of blowing it up anymore.
  12. Guess I'll just drive the shit out of it and see what happens
  13. Jekyll and Hyde.... That's how I see my 8 speed. Clunky....weird shifts some days. Smooth and predictable others. Sadly the Clunky weirdness is the majority of time. Any hard acceleration seems OK but idling around town and coasting to stops usually gives a good clunk of some type. V4 mode may have something to do with so I went and ordered the Range device to disable it. No I did not want to tune it....I believe something will break eventually so I'm taking no chances with warranty. Some of clunking sounds like coming from rear end. I've resigned myself to driving it till it breaks....and I refuse to sit truck at dealership for days or weeks. Either it breaks or I do....
  14. No it makes no difference....just hauled bike 1000kms....still there.
  15. Well I'm starting to get annoyed... Thought vibe at 70mph was tires. Disappeared for a while(after balancing) but is now back....and balancing isn't fixing it. F....k I might have to get them checked again...
  16. My fix was easy... Apparently hunting season was hard on wheel weights... One wheel missing 3oz Others were off slightly. Drives smooth again. Thank god
  17. Well Ive got 9k km on my truck, stock tires were swapped out for Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs at 4k kms in September. All my driving since putting new tires on has been back roads and gravel.....hunting season. Never had it on major highway at higher speeds till yesterday. Surprse surprise vibes at 115km/hr and up. Does not feel thru steering wheel as much as thru body itself. Manual on tranny from 5th up has same result. In the past with the 20" rims I've found mud built up on inside of rims to be the culprit(with the former F150 as well as these) but in this case there was little. Only other thing was I had my roll top cover extended....don't do that often. Maybe caused some different turbulence. Tires are getting checked today....I'll test the truck after with roll top rolled up.
