  1. @Texcl2 I ran a catch can on my Titan and had to empty it every 1500-2000 miles. 0w-20 synthetic was changed every 4000 miles since I am always meticulous about oil changes. I learned as a young man what could happen to nice vehicle, when it isn't taken care of. Spending a summer at a Walmart tire and lube was an eye opening experience in more ways than one. MPG's with the 5.6 endurance were below average at best, and terrible (15-16) some of the time. Even babying it, the best I ever got was 18.2 mpg. Almost every vehicle I have ever owned would meet or exceed the EPA highway rating..........at least once in a while. I am very hopeful that the 2023 Colorado ZR2 will be at least as efficient as a Silverado with the 2.7 and scratch my off road itch.
  2. Found this thread after cruising google for more info on reliability and fuel mileage for the 2.7T I'm seriously considering a Colorado ZR2 or Trail Boss for my next vehicle and after reading through 890 posts, I can say that the biggest complaints have come from people that haven't driven or don't even own a pickup with this engine. Normally bad experiences with a product are the first and loudest voices. I bought a 2021 Titan Pro4X last year, and loved it........except for the fuel mileage. I sold the Titan for a nice profit and bought a Hyundai Santa Cruz (with the 2.5T) to improve mileage. I've averaged 22.3 over the first 5000 miles but miss having the ability to go further off the beaten path. So the Colorado ZR2 will be my next target unless the price is increased more (or less payload) than expected for 2023. I have a couple questions. 1. The fuel dilution issue that @customboss had early on....... do you think that had anything to do with a fuel issue from extended idling or possibly from cold weather? 2. Has anyone noticed any issue from carbon or oil vapors in the intake/turbo? I haven't seen much info about a catch can setup for these motors. Thanks for all the great info in here. I appreciate being able to read through multiple oil analysis reports along with seeing a decent sample size of owners with real world feedback.
