The LED strips used would have to be the proper low level brightness (or only a couple of LEDs) or the glare in the footwells might be too much and a distraction instead of a benefit if they are on continuously. Might be worth fooling around a bit with though.
I had bright ones in my Wrangler, but they were tied to the ambient light potentiometer and I could control the intensity.
Isn't it hard to believe that these $60,000+ trucks don't have lights in the footwells? Even Jeep Wranglers have those.
I have the LED strips to install, but as some others I'm still waiting for someone to tell definitely where to tap into the harness(s) for power.

Thanks for the replies!
Late model Jeep Wranglers have had terrible results with the 2-battery system. If the Auxiliary battery fails, it drains the main battery and the vehicle refuses to start. Poor design on Mopars part.
2022 Silverado 1500 / 5.3. I just got out of a Jeep Wrangler that had an auxiliary battery from the factory that ran the accessories when the start/stop was activated.
Does my Silverado have this? Or does the main battery handle everything?
Daytime instrument panel lighting is provided as a safety factor ... even though most of us think it is unnecessary.
The BIGGEST problem with this is that the panel will stay lighted even at night without headlights on. I regularly see people driving at night without headlights because their dash is lit and they think the lights are on.
