We found this creaking to be caused by the anti-rattle shield that is riveted to the back of the brake pad. Ours was loose, so we carefully placed a few drops of air-tool oil between the pad and shield. We allowed some time for the pull to penetrate before replacing the pads and caliper. We stopped hearing the creaking after.
Please note; we originally thought this problem was caused by the caliper slider pins or where the piston meets the break pad. We lubed these up but still hard the creaking. We found this forum and all of you saying the problem was with the pads and, once replaced, the problem fixed. That's how we knew to look closer at the pad itself. So, a big thank you to you all!
