  1. Can anyone link to the "Leevon" method? Cannot seem to find it.
  2. Do you garage your truck at your house? I do and have not yet experienced this on my 24 SLT. I had hoped it was fixed by now. I'm at about 5K miles, but it has also been one of the driest 6 months on record here in Virginia.
  3. My S23U would usually charge , but my new S24U does the same behavior that you describe. I need to check it without my case on, but on the S23 you could move the phone around a little and find the sweet spot/orientation for charging. I haven't found the same with the S24 Ultra.
  4. I am still getting notices about my "first free/complimentary oil change" I've had 3 oil changes so far, and I paid for the last two. When I brought it in with the notice that I had another free one, they told me they'd only find out if I were to be charged upon invoice.
  5. Buy the fastest flash storage you can buy. I have about 15K mp3s on mine and the truck would struggle to index and read it using slower flash media. After upgrading it, it reads it more consistently now. Also, it's not smart enough to be able to read several subdirectories deep. So if you organize your music as Band>Album>Songs , it will not read 3 directories deep. Instead just do Band>Songs. I have FLAC and MP3s and it reads both I think.
  6. Thanks, I already have to do that a few times a week just to keep things partially functional.
  7. I want to force the dealer to update mine because it's getting worse and worse. I no longer have parking lines on my cameras for some reason... But I don't want to make things even worse.
  8. Mine makes the very first Android phone back in 2009 feel like a modern iphone in comparison...
  9. Yes, the later iterations of the bulletin removed the HU update. I'm guessing because of the complaints about bluetooth audio quality when making calls. I am willing to sacrifice that for a semi-functional head unit, which it is not currently. I will be taking my truck back in and demanding they update the firmware or replace the entire HU, with a threat of lemon lawing the whole thing. The truck has already been at the dealer for over 30 days in the last 10 months for engine/emissions related garbage, so I'm already within my right here in Virginia.
  10. Thank you. I found the -04 revision, and it looks like it drops the radio update as well: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-11008247-0001.pdf Do you have a link to the -05 version? If I'm reading this correctly, it looks like there may have been complaints after the radio updates in earlier revisions regarding bluetooth phone calls. Perhaps they've dropped the radio/android updates in the later revisions while they attempt to get that sorted out. I'd would rather sacrifice bluetooth call quality to have a functional HU.
  11. There have been 3 additional revisions to this bulletin, with the most recent that I could find posted here: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-11007681-0001.pdf . I am printing this off and including it when I drop the truck off next (later today...). Not sure if competitor forum links are allowed to be shared, but there's a thread over on the ZR2 forums discussing this revision: https://www.chevyzr2.com/threads/recall-n242435631-03.2586/
  12. Thank you so much @NW-Shadow21 . Can you confirm that's a 1500 model? I know mine is the GMC variant, but they're basically the same. Was yours updated with the N242435631 recall, or something else? This is great information.
  13. Can anyone provide a screenshot/image of your Android version, kernel version and security patch version post-update showing Android version 12? I want to provide evidence of where this HU needs to be post-update. Another day wasted on a piece of garbage.
  14. So ****ing sick of GM. Brought the truck in for this recall update. Went to pick it up... Android version 10 (supposed to be 12). Kernel last updated Aug 2023, Security patch last updated Feb 2023. So no, they didn't actually update the head unit. What did I need to do as soon as I got in this piece of ****** truck? another hard reset to get my phone to connect. What a garbage company and garbage vehicle.
  15. I'd like to get the update to see if it resolves my Android Auto issues, which have seemed to worsen over the recent months. I'll get in the truck, it'll connect and display my google maps for about 30-60 seconds, then disconnect. Cycling bluetooth on my phone and choosing myGMC as soon as it comes back on fixes it.. until the next drive cycle. Other issues that have popped up: Sometimes I cannot get AA to connect at all, until I do a hard reset of the head unit. With increasing frequency, my cameras will not come on automatically or when pressing the button, and they will also not stop showing when I hit 10-20mph as they're supposed to. The overlays, for actions like adjusting the HVAC, are also inconsistently displayed. I don't use my bluetooth phone much, but I don't want to introduce the crackling problem. Others have mentioned it's seemed to resolve itself over time, can anyone else share those experiences? In the IT world it's very unlikely for things to "fix" themselves unless something is changed.
  16. 2024 1500. Let the data plan expire after the trial period (3 months). After it expired, I was using downloaded offline maps downloaded over my home wifi or hotspot. I downloaded these after the expiration, and have done so multiple times. I thought this was the workaround. Due to a myriad of issues, including the cameras not working when requested, the system freezing up and the GPS not working after a few weeks at a time, I've done several soft resets. After the reset, I am no longer able to download the offline maps, despite being connected to my home wifi or hotspot. It presents a message stating that offline maps are not allowed to be downloaded without a data plan, and that my previous maps have been deleted. This is absolutely unacceptable. I dropped close to 70k for a truck, that in 2024, does not have the basic GPS functionality of a early 2000s Toyota. I wouldn't give a ******, if Android Auto would consistently work. Every time I get in the truck, I have to restart my phone's bluetooth and wifi to get it to connect. It will often connect, and then after a minute disconnect and not reconnect until those services are restarted. This thing is just an android tablet, and a crappy one at best. Anyone have any hacks to get offline maps to function again? I cannot believe the amount of bullshit I've had to jump through for this tuck. Responses from Red Wings fans go straight to ignore.
  17. Just do me a favor... don't respond to any post or comment I create. For some reason, you seem to be compelled to be contrarian on every comment. I don't care about your inaccurate assumptions about the speed limit readout. I posted this seeking suggestions for the audio cutting out. So.. yes, please, just ignore anything I post, since you seem to think whatever I post here and elsewhere is always wrong anyways.
  18. Common complaint on the 23 and 24s. I find mine is OK, but have read a lot of posts from people who swapped out an earlier model for the later one and your complaints are par for the course. There are several things that have been decontented from the earlier models: Bose audio (not the premium in the Denali and AT4 models) is garbage compared to earlier versions Keyless entry door handles are only on the front doors now Cameras are garbage compared to earlier versions I'm sure there's more, but those are the ones I'm aware of.
  19. I have a 24 1500 SLT with the refreshed infotainment, and have been having some issues: Audio will frequently cut out for 1-2 seconds several times within the first few minutes of running. This has happened on to sources from USB and Android Auto. After increasing my USB drive to about 15K songs, the truck indexed and used the flash drive as a source for a couple of weeks before basically just giving up. It acts as though no usb drive is plugged in now. I've purchased a USB M2 SSD to see if a speedier filesystem will improve this but have not tested yet Offline maps disappear - I am not paying a subscription to use my freaking navigation system, so I downloaded offline maps, and have done so several times. After a couple of weeks they disappear and my navigation shows nothing interestingly enough, I did the Infotainment reset by holding down the end call button to try and resolve these issues. After doing so, my speed limit indicator that is 100% populated by the cameras and not a database stopped working and my cluster shows nothing. I know people assume this data comes from a GPS database, but my observations tell me it's from the cameras based off of: My rural, dead end street has a speed limit of 30MPH, but the sign is almost near the front of the road. My cluster used to show the limit as 55 (I'm guessing the default), until after I reached and passed the sign I have noticed that if a sign is obstructed or too far from the road, the speed limit would not adjust when passing it. For the audio cutting out issues, I've seen lots of people complaining about it on the refresh models, so I assume it's well known. I'm hoping there will be either a firmware fix or hardware revision before my warranty is up. Having such a glitchy system on a brand new and expensive vehicle is not ideal.
  20. On my 2024 1500, the audio will cut out for less than a second a few times in the first 5 minutes of a drive cycle, and then seems to go away. The unit has locked up several times and I've had to do a forced reboot.
  21. Here's the one thread I previously found, on trailboss, so replace the URL because the **** mods apparently don't like competition. www.notrailboss.org/threads/firewall-grommet-change-in-the-2024-lt-trail-boss-for-power-wire.2109/
  22. I have a 2024 GMC 1500 and I wanted to wire up a subwoofer behind the rear seats. I found great guidance on various forum posts and youtube that showed a unused grommet through the firewall that is intended for aftermarket cable routing (power/subwoofer or otherwise). It had a closed rubber nipple that you could cut off and fish a wire through there to the passenger side footwell. So today I began the process to fish a power cable through my truck's firewall and found that it's completely different. There is no longer a passthrough grommet. I took out the battery (with much frustration ) and couldn't find a single place that I could see to get something through. I found a post online that I cannot seem to find again that stated the 2024s were completely different, and based off that description I think it's accurate. So does anyone have any guidance they can provide to get through the firewall without drilling? Looked very simple on videos for the 2019-2023s.
  23. I've had this happen a few times. I did a hard reset by holding the end call button for 10-15 seconds while in park and then re-downloaded the offline maps I had (I don't subscribe). The head unit has been pretty buggy for me, I've had to do a reset several times for this and other issues. Mine is a 24 GMC 1500 SLT for reference.
  24. I should mention that after I resolved my issue, I did a 300 mile road trip through the mountains with the cruise set to 84MPH and the truck performed flawlessly. I'll be doing the return with a few hundred pounds in the bed in coming days.
