  1. I'm thinking the same thing about the OTA vs. manually programming it, or the latest software is also broken. These vehicles cost too much money to be having issues like this. Thanks for your feedback.
  2. It was just yesterday that a mechanic told me I should have bought a Toyota. I guess the quality of vehicles is down across the board.
  3. Aside from the wireless charging, did the re-flash of the communications module resolve the other issues?
  4. Could you describe the problems that began after the OTA update and what happened with the truck half disabling itself? Or at least tell me if any of what I have detailed that is now happening with my truck sounds like what happened with your truck? I found some information that indicates there was an OTA that was pushed to vehicles without them being taken into the service department and there were problems after that which then required a fix and a trip to the service department for the fix. I don't know if that is correct. If it is, I don't know how to tell which update I have now: the original update that caused the problems or the update to "fix" the original update.
  5. On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, I took my new 2024 Chevy Silverado LT that I bought July 24, 2024, into the dealership for a Warranty oil change. I was not having any electrical issues of any kind with the truck and was not having any issues with the infotainment system. I waited at the dealership in the waiting area and was readily accessible for any questions or updates. When my truck was ready to be picked up the service technician told me that while they were doing the Warranty oil change, they found a Customer Satisfaction recall for the Serial Data Gateway Module and took care of that also. This was not discussed with me beforehand. Immediately upon leaving the dealership issues became apparent. Braking, clicking and popping noises while driving, pedestrian warning not working, and over the next three days, some of the issues that developed are Auto Shutoff shutting the engine down while slowing to a stop causing the truck to abruptly lurch forward, but with the vehicle not being at a complete stop, then not working after that when at complete stops, charging ports not charging, seat heating not working properly, voice command Google Assistant not working, Sirius XM radio going out, etc. etc. There's more, but those are some of the issues. This has all happened after the reprogramming of that module and so far over the course of the next three days following the reprogramming. I took the truck back on August 21, 2024 with the first few issues that had developed Immediately and was told they were normal and that the reprogramming would not have caused any of them. It was suggested that I just monitor things myself and let them know if i had any other questions or concerns. These issues weren't normal for my truck that I had driven every day with the radio off listening to each and every sound, or lack thereof, that the truck made - or should I say DIDN'T make, for the month before this reprogramming was done. With the additional issues that developed throughout the rest of August 21, 2024 and so far up until August 23, 2024, I do not feel these are normal for the vehicle, I do not feel that these are random coincidences, and I do feel that a vehicle that had no issues prior to the reprogramming has been substantially impacted in a negative way by the reprogramming of the Serial Data Gateway Modual. I do not feel that I can depend on this truck to be safe. I am a Disabled Vetetan and put every penny I had saved into purchasing this truck. Now I feel like I have a spent my savings on a truck that has significant problems caused by this reprogramming and a potential danger to drive. I need these issues resolved, without further damage being caused to my truck during the process of fixing them. I need these issues fixed permanently! Thank you for your time in reading this, and any advice that you could give me.
  6. Forewarning: Long post. Sorry. I bought a 2024 Chevy Silverado LT 1500 4x4 in July. It had 5,700 miles on it when I bought it. The silence inside and quiet smooth ride were an answer to a prayer. I took it into the dealership for a warranty oil change yesterday. It took hours! When it was ready for me to pick it up, I was told that a recall on the Serial Data Gateway Module had also been taken care of. From what I've found online, the Serial Data Gateway Module is located way up under the dash and it's difficult to access. I drove to run errands afterwards and there is now clicking and popping noises coming from the front dash. The brake pedal squeaks when I press it now and clicks when I let off of it. The gear shifter has a great deal of slack when in D and also a dull knock sound with that slack movement. The slack is significant enough that the shifter bounces when I drive over the groves in the center line of the road making the turn onto my driveway. This is something I have done daily since I got the truck in July and the shifter never bounced until after getting it back from the service department at the dealership yesterday. I drive by myself with no radio on, and I'm a hypervigilant Veteran, so I have complete confidence the sounds were not there before taking it in for service. Additionally, the steering wheel is slightly off center now, the airbag compartment in the center of the steering wheel can be physically moved side to side and top to bottom, and when it park, the steering wheel tilts off center to the left each time. I try to straighten it back to center, but it turns back to the left until I overcompensate to the right in order to get it to go back to center. This happens every single time I park now, regardless of where I park. Definitely not something that was happening before yesterday. I'm sure of this because I have several hours each day where it is necessary for me to sit parked and I prop my phone on the steering wheel. I 100% know for a fact that the steering wheel was straight and would stay straight when parking before yesterday. Today, I went back to the dealership. I was told they didn't do anything to reprogram the Serial Data Gateway Module except plug in a cord and push buttons on the handheld screen, that the clicks and popping sounds I'm hearing now are normal, that the one associated with the brake pedal is the electric brakes and the clicking when I take my foot off the pedal should be happening, that the squeaking when pressing the brake pedal is normal, that all of these clicks and popping noises were happening before (they weren't), that I just didn't notice them, and that they didn't touch the steering wheel at all. There were residue marks on the steering wheel that were consistent with the size of fingers. Residue of palm prints on the door. Drops of something on the seat that left a white residue when I tried to clean it off. Pry maks from a tool on the plastic covers on the back of the steering wheel where you access the bolts to remove the airbag compartment. Drops of something on the plastic dash trim behind the steering wheel that had hardened by yesterday afternoon and had to be scraped off, and the hood of my truck was covered in some relatively large "drops" of a substance that looks like it was splattered across the truck. It hardened and didn't come off by trying to wipe it off with a cloth. When I washed it at the car wash, those spots repelled the water while the area with no splatter drops stayed wet. By this evening, there is now a rattle coming from somewhere behind the dash and I can't figure out where. And the road noise is now very noticeable. I can't describe accurately enough how hypervigilante I am about noises. They are driving me crazy, especially when I know they weren't happening before yesterday. I mostly needed to vent, but if anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.
