It is SO FRUSTRATING that the dealership service dept totally disregards the problem description, and hides behind the old “didn’t do it for us” excuse. I suspect that yours and mine are showing signs of a fuel system issue. Mine has stopped cutting off, but does idle rough when I stop for at a traffic light.

3/10/2026 GMC YUkon XL, 5.3, 10 spd AT, 42,000 miles, I had “auto stop” turned off (I haven’t done anything to reprogram the computer to defeat it, car is factory stock). Twice yesterday, the engine cut off when I came to a stop. The chime rang, the car automatically shifted to “N”, and “Press Start Again” displayed on the dash. The engine restarted easily, and I drove away. Anyone hear about this, and know what could cause it? I did do the software patch after I got home, because it had been nagging me all day to do it (didn’t want to do it while out of town), but I wouldn’t think that would be related.
